My first cordless tool - an inexpensive, well built piece of kit. Recommended.
Having never had a rotary tool before, I wasn't actually sure what I was looking for but, as this tool was relatively inexpensive (and I'd read plenty of other reviews), I thought I'd try it as I could use it for various jobs I would normally do manually. The initial reason for purchasing the tool was that I wanted to reduce the length of a bolt on the locking mechanism of a toilet door in the house, as it was slightly too long and rattled when turned. I could have simply used a hacksaw, however I knew I'd need the tool for other tasks so wanted to test it out. As a general rule, I typically purchase corded tools. This is partly for the fact that you tend to get higher power ratings and stronger torque with corded versions but also that I'm not a tradesman and typically have power sockets nearby anyway. However, as this was relatively cheap and the reviews seemed good, I decided to go for the cordless version as USB-C charging was an added bonus for me. I have to say, the reviews I'd read were pretty accurate. It's German-made, feels fairly heavy duty / premium quality and looks similar to the style of Bosch or B&D tools (of old). The carry case itself is pretty sturdy and well made. Even the cardboard box that the case comes in feels premium! The variable speeds are functional and easy to operate and there is a selection of additional attachments - if somewhat basic / limited. It should be noted that there are no metal rotary saw blades included in the package, as this isn't aimed at heavy duty cutting. Though, with the attachments provided, it will cut through screws, nails etc. if it's used occasionally. The user manual has multiple languages and is fairly comprehensive though, to be fair, you'll probably figure out most functionality while using it - it's what you'd expect from a basic rotary tool. As stated, it's charged via a USB-C cable (provided) though I can't accurately comment on battery length or life as I haven't really put it through its paces yet or had it for long enough to understand if the battery has longevity. On initial findings though, it's pretty good. I've used it a fair bit (about an hour's total cutting time?) and it hasn't yet dropped one bar on the charge LED incidators or even got that warm, other than heat from my hands. The only criticism I have, as you might expect, is the lower end torque of the tool. For example, while I was attempting to cut through the 5x5mm metal locking bolt, it did struggle slightly, despite taking care with the pressure and the length of continued exposure I was applying to the cut. Ironically, I ended up hacksawing the final half as I didn't want to risk damaging the tool. However it should be noted that I think it probably would have been fine cutting all the way through and it did perform a fairly good cut on what it had achieved. Overall, a very nicely built, sturdy piece of kit. For the price (just under £40 when I bought it), I'd definitely recommend it.

Very pleased after two days intensive testing
The manual is quite well-detailed and clearly written by a safety-conscious person. The typeset could be bigger, but I suppose the manual would then be too big for the fairly compact and strong carrier box. The accessories quide made it very clear which tools to use with each material. I next made it my business to try out every single accessory type with the appropriate materials. This multitool made short work of all the various practical tasks I found for it to carry out, and so now I have a very long list of DIY tasks fpr it to carry out. I have worked in the construction, agricultural and forestry sectors myself, so I can see that many professionals would find this a useful item. But it is clearly up to snuff for craftwork as well. And replacement accessories are cheap and plentiful in my fairly remote area of the World. Good tool with plenty of available speed and power. I can see myself soon making a static mount for grinding and cutting. Charging is easy and it can be connected to solar power. :-) Very multi-purpose! I have already made a static mount for it out of a plastic tupperware box, and added a safety wrist strap. Also I have bought some cheap flexible drive shafts and suspended it on a homemade bench stand. A very adaptable craft tool!

Great for woodworking, would skip for heavy metal working.
Great tool for the most part, I don't over use it, maybe once a week for the year or so I've had it. I mainly use it for metal work, cutting bits that the full size angle grinder wont work for and grinding stones. The problem is, carbide burrs do not work in this tool. No matter how tight you do up the collet, it will keep unscrewing itself. I've had to now buy myself a die grinder from Milwaukee as a replacement for this tool, however I'll still keep hold of it for the extra small cutting discs. The battery life is actually surprisingly good, I don't use it all day, but for a Chinese rated 2ah, it does the job. Don't use the included cut off wheels in the accessory kit, they explode and you will lose an eye, buy the dremel speedclic if you want to cut metal. The power level is fine for wood, lacking for metal, but will do the job if you're gental with it. I'd buy it again for small wood working, but for metal, could be better. However, for its size and price, you can't knock it and should have realistic expectations.

I was looking for a cordless model after years of years of suffering corded limitations on rotary power tools. I do serious work with my Dremel collection and wasn't willing to take a risk on the cheaper, low-power models, which may be enough for some, but are lacking as a professional tool. I honestly couldn't wait to write a review for the DEPSTECH, within minutes the advantage became crystal clear. Perfectly balanced motor, you can barely feel it running, well balanced, and nice hard-rubber grip. Great stepwise speed control, charge state and speed indicator LEDs, gimbal lock. I have tried cutting, buffing, and engraving and it all works great. Probably an 18650 battery so don't expect more than a couple hours constant use without a recharge. Charger not included, get a high-capacity charger and you can cycle it in under 90 min. Great deal!
