It's a mitutoyo, need I say more. When .001 counts on a forged bottom end, don't chink out.

Hi quality tool. Accurately measured the bore of the engine I'm rebuilding. Was consistent with the machine shop's measurements. Nice case. Decent instructions. Please note that you will need a OD micrometer or a calibration ring to set the gauge.

Don't get the .001, make sure it's a .0001 resolution and a Mitutoyo (wouldn't trust Chinese with a tenth). You won't regret it when you need it!

There are cheaper Asian bore gauges. My belief is you should buy the highest quality tools you can afford. If you buy this bore gauge you will never wish you had a different or cheaper one. It will last you the rest of your life. Buy a cheaper one and one day you may still buy this one. I am very pleased with the quality of this product along with my other Mitutoyo gauges.

Tool is a genuine Mitutoyo, but has obviously been repackaged, or was an opened and returned box. Did not come with expected factory paper work. Had a photocopied product sheet included, but not warranty info. Also has a small hardware package included which has no identifiable usage to be found in any of the instructions or diagrams. I am not displeased with item, but would have appreciated knowing the exact state of "newness" for the tool. Seller would not be able to provide first hand product details as this was a drop ship transaction. Had to call Mitutoyo to register tool, online registration did not recognize serial number. This is a quality tool in new condition, just does not seem to be a direct from factory product.

High quality Mitutoyo product. If you're familiar with machinist tools. Probably the last bore gauge one would ever need. If one has never used precision tools, it could be a difficult learning curve. Read the instructions. Once a novice figures it out, it's then so easy.
