Bought this as a present for my brother in Germany. He loves it!You can "twist" the hat to make it fold flat which is extremely practical for him when travelling. It also does an excellent job of keeping all the mosquitoes away.The little zip proves to be very useful as you can drink easily without taking the hat off.

Does not stop the famous Scotish midges from getting in. It does help but needs a finer mesh!

This is a much-needed midge net hat. I am covered in midge bites, I have never seen as many midges I as have this year, it’s crazy. I like the design of this hat and net; the hat fits perfectly and has a chin strap for windy days and the net comes down from the outer or the brim. The fact that the net comes down from the brim edge is what makes this hat much better than the net I previously tried, I find nets that just go over the head very claustrophobic right next to my face despite them being net, this one gives plenty of room. The net sits nicely out from the face and ties at the bottom to stop the midges getting in. I wore it the same evening as it arrived to take our dog for a walk and despite there being lots of midges they did not get in the net. The hat can be worn on it’s own as a sun hat without the net too as the net just zips off.

Great hat, fits well. With the wire frame around the hat the net sits away from your face. The drawstring means there's no gaps around your face or neck for the midges to get in. Definitely recommend. Cheap at only £7.99.
