An excellent cane
I have found this cane quite as advertised. I bought it in time for a week-long sight-seeing trip in England. Despite not being that old, I have a bad hip, ankle and knee and knew I would not only a cane, but a portable seat. I have an antique one with the same kind of seat and I tried one of those ones with those leather slings for a seat, so I have a little experience in this area. I felt the sling-seat one is not well designed to take weight, so I was sure I wanted one where the seat is directly supported by the stick, and last year I finally found some! I looked at many of these before I settled on this one. They kept having just enough problems I wasn't satisfied, so even though this one didn't have any reviews at the time I figured I wasn't risking more with it than any other. And it was more than satisfactory! It is a little tall for me to sit on at the height where it works as a cane, but I acknowledgment that I am choosing not to take the time to adjust it down and I can still use it at a slight angle. I even at one point in my trip converted it to the stool form. Granted while I am overweight I am no where near the weight limit, but for me it performed exactly as claimed, no signs of strain when I rested on it. The handle is also very comfortable to use as a cane. It was invaluable on my trip and I would not have been able to handle the strain without this cane. As for the bag and seat cover: I keep losing the bag but it seems fine to me. I do not like the cover. I tried it once and decided to never use it as I am sure I was slipping off it. However, the point of this is the cane, the seat cover is an unnecessary extra so I am not holding it against the cane in my rating. Oh, and do look at the instructions. I couldn't figure out how to properly adjust it and was regretfully lower my rating when I remembered I hadn't looked at the instructions and found it simply explained in them.

Well made, clever design
I must sit every 40 minutes or so to reduce back pain. I bought this to use during shore excursions on a cruise. It is a clever design--very easy to open and close. It is also very lightweight and remarkably sturdy. But, when I unpacked it, the instructions say it can be used only on a level surface. I'll be on Greek islands with cobblestone streets, so it doesn't work for me. Also, if you want to carry it as a cane rather than in the bag with shoulder strap, the seat cushions must be carried separately and put on each time you stop. That was too cumbersome for me. Without the cushions, the seat is very uncomfortable. Note that the seat is designed to wobble a little so you can shift it to a comfortable position. Again, a very clever design and sturdy, but it didn't meet my needs.

Good as a cane and as an aid to get up off the floor
Bad knees now require that I get help to lift myself up off the floor. I bought and returned several supports being sold as aids for this very reason. The videos looked good but I found it impossible. This item can be adjusted to various heights and provide two handholds much like using a chair to lift yourself up. I can do it with this cane and I feel much more comfortable going out and knowing I can get up if needed. Not particularly comfortable to sit on but I am sure it will be appreciated if and when I will need to rest a bit.

Exactly as advertised!
Very clever design!. Surprisingly strong and stable. I way 215 and am about 6' tall. In spite of how delicate the device looks when it is in its stool form, it is remarkably strong and lightweight. Very easy to use. Directions are clear and link to video is included - but - I was able to do it all without even looking at the instructions. And I'm no genius. The case is actually a good add-on because it allows you to carry the "cane" hands free quite easily when strapped over a shoulder. I can definitely see using it without deploying the legs of the stool and just leaning against the seat for shorter periods. HOWEVER> the cane tip is kind of puny and does not grip well. So I have ordered one with a wider base for more contact area. Seat area is kind of small and I imagine will get a bit uncomfortable if used for very long. I bought this to allow me to do more traveling that might include more walking and standing and think it's going to make a big difference. I can't imagine anything doing more in such a convenient and easy to carry "package". Very pleased and surprised that it does all that it does and does it so well and easily.

Nicely made works well but hand grip is to small for a man’s hands
Nicely made works well and is strong enough to sit on and use. However the width of the hand holds are to narrow for a man’s hand. When I use this to walk any distance my knuckles rub against the plastic and get sore. If only the opening was a little wider it would be a great product.

Idea good but nothing to help you up. Nice seat.
Nothing to help you get up.

Worked great on European trip
My husband needed a cane/stool combination, we were heading to Europe and there would be lots of walking on cobblestone and waiting around, Athens / Rome / Aix-en-Provence / Pisa / Florence and many other un-evened surfaced cities. We researched a bunch and wanted to ensure he would have no problems in the various airports with security. Some of the cane-stools we considered looked a bit too athletic and we worried having difficulty getting through security. On a previous trip we learned he wasn't allowed a hiking pole through security. It turns out that the Darza was a perfect match. My husband is 6 foot tall and 230 pounds. When positioned as a stool, he was able to take a load off and rest his legs for a few minutes here and there. It was a quick maneuver into a cane and it helped him walk on all the un-even cobblestone. Highly recommend this product for anyone like him, needing that extra help on a long trip.
