Ssd often disappears - at some point the USB device is just not visible. Now, you might think that's due to lack of power - but I assure you, that's not the case - as I'm providing with 2a+, and got nothing except for the extension board connected. Usual (external) ssd adapter worked better for me

Lite kantig form men den gör sitt jobb. Lite synd att det inte sitter en lucka på undersidan där själva hårddisken sitter så man slipper plocka ur allt för att komma åt hårddisken.

habe das PI Case für einen HomeAssistant Server gekauft. Damit bin ich sehr zufrieden. Die SSD lässt sich gut verbauen und das Ganze wird nicht zu warm. Aufbau ist einfach und funktioniert ohne Anpassungen.

Works as advertised and is in my opinion the better solution to extend your pi4 with an SSD: the USB ports can't deliver more than 5W (all combined), so this breakout board gets power from the pi4 header pins + uses the lower-power SSD formfactor compared to the classical SSD 2.5inch sata disks. My previous usb-only ssd solution was unstable (had to reboot from time to time, got kernel errors). Also very fine quality of casing, PCB, heatsink etc. manual comes with pictures. Just be warned, it must be an SSD SATA M2 type, not the other PCIe M2 type, but other reviews and the product page warn for this very explicitly. Very good price-quality. I used it with a 1TB SATA M2 SSD from Verbatim. Used it for Umbrel.

The case looks very solid and nice. To have also a SSD inside of the box is very convenient! Only remark that the SSD adapter doesn't work without the Raspberry Pi board. The SSD sata adapter takes powering by the pogopin of the Raspberry Pi and the usb connection together. Just USB powering give it only for the bridge chip on the adapter and not for the SSD drive itself. Thanks for clarification of this issue by the GeeekPi support.
