Wow, I'm impressed! I've had back problems for over 50 years and over the past eight years, which included a significant hip, leg and back injury, sitting for more than 10 minutes at a time really stiffens the lower back muscles. I do a fair amount of music research and editing for my guitar playing, so sitting has been problematic.I got the Lumbar Lift a couple of days ago and let it decompress for about 36 hours before using it. (NOTE: It comes in a vacuum sealed bag, so it needs time to fully decompress back to normal size. It does have an unusual odor to it when as it inflates, so I let it decompress out in the garage. I can't detect any order now.)I set it up on the "lumbar friendly" office chair I have been using for a few years, sat for about 45 minutes at the computer and then stood right up with NO stiffness or pain in the lower back. I moved it to a recliner chair, watched TV for 30 minutes and again, up with NO stiffness or pain. I'm taking this sucker with me everywhere I go.

HEADS UP: ONLY, ONLY ONLY order the grey one. DO NOT order the Black, which is MISSING THE MEMORY FOAM INSERTS IN THE 4 PATCHES, which make this cushion usable and comfortable. The grey one is exellent. I wanted a black one too as I live in a small space in my RV. The grey with the memory foam inserts in the patches, is helping me sit upstraight on my old dilapidated RV seats. The black one may be an original model I have no idea. I cannot contact the store. And Amazon is selling the black for $2 more. Once again, the black cushion is inferior and missing the soft memory foam in the 4 patches for the butt and back. I am grateful for this grey cushion and although expensive, is helping me enourmously. I am a 74 yr. old small woman. ONCE AGAIN, ONLY PURCHASE THE GREY SEAT WITH THE BLACK PATCHES. The black is a total waste of time and money. I also have seen and tried 2 black cushions and they are both the same - MISSING the essential memory foam inserts. Give the light grey one a try!!!

I have a love hate relationship with this seat. It does help me sit up better or at least firmer seating when placed on my couch. However, it is so hard!!! I have two and one has nearly no memory foam cushioning where the black "circles" are. (That one is the newest that my husband bought to leave on the seat in my vehicle.) I also have a slight curvature of the spine and don't think it is able to achieve keeping me upright as well as if I had a more normal spine.

You need the right chair for this, does not work in a recliner. More like a dining room chair with handles.
