LOVE THIS! Works great, smells awesome, and feels fabulous! Tingles the scalp but does not burn. Refreshing and appealing. Heals dry, itchy scalp in a matter of days…In addition to a hidden surprise….I was working on another project that required epoxy/resin that ended up all over my hands. Nothing removed it and recommend ways burned and damaged my skin. Thought of this baby, and it took the resin right off without damaging my hands. In fact, my hands never felt better! I even used it for dry patches of winter-induced eczema on my sides, belly, and back. Miracle liquid! Smells great too! I will ALWAYS keep this on hand from now on.

If you are like me and suffer from fast oily scalp (I am talking about really oily scalp after only two days of not washing hair) this product is awesome. I don't know how or why, but this stuff lifts the flakes and oils (serum) off the scalp and redistributes it throughout the hair shaft. I stopped washing my hair every other day and now only wash it once a week, possibly once every two weeks (you're not suppose to wash hair everyday). Unfortunately, due to my hair getting use to being washed ever so often (every two days), my hair over produces serum, aka oils, and it itches. Tea Tree oil is well known for cooling areas of the body and undoing itch. It does the trick for scalps that hasn't been washed for a week or two. However, upon experimenting with this stuff, it doesn't work as effectively for hair that hasn't been washed over three weeks (just a trail I am doing on myself to see the effectiveness of this product). It does help relief itchy scalp slightly for unwashed hair over past three weeks, but works wonderfully and strongly on scalps that hasn't been washed after a week, no longer than two weeks. Past two weeks and the product doesn't do the job as it should, but it does help. I highly recommend this product (OGX Extra Strength Refreshing Scalp Treatment) for those who don't want to wash their hair everyday or ever so often. I had noticed that tea tree oil assists with hair growth since it allows the scalp to breath better and clears out the area of oils/serum/dirt/flakes/other blockers. It also leaves behind a wonderful scent, which masks the natural serum/oil scent from the scalp.

I have had issues with my scalp since moving from the West coast several years ago to a dried-out, landlocked state. About two weeks after I got here, I noticed a lot of hair in the shower drain and on the bathroom floor. Then, I lost a palm-sized patch of hair on the left side of the top of my head. The hair here eventually grew back, but it won’t grow longer, oddly, than about half an inch. My scalp has some kind of build-up on it that is not from styling products, as I don’t use any. This is accompanied by mild itchiness, and occasionally a few painful pustules. (Sorry.) I’ve spent a lot of money trying to improve my scalp- tons of scrubs, a whole spectrum of medicated shampoos- even cortisone injections, administered in a doctor’s office. Nothing provided lasting relief. I think it’s a condition I am just going to have to live with, unless I can somehow move back home. Until then, the best I can do is treat the symptoms. I am constantly researching what can help the scalp be more healthy. I found that tea tree, rosemary, peppermint, lavender, and clary sage essential oils are most often recommended to soothe the scalp and, in the case of rosemary, encourage hair growth. This OGX product contains tea tree oil and peppermint, as well as witch hazel. Witch hazel helps to soothe irritated skin. I liked this product’s ingredient list and its positive reviews, so I ordered it. It felt nice and refreshing on my scalp, and temporarily did banish the dryness and occasional mild itching. The build-up and itch, however, would return if I stopped applying it periodically throughout the day. It has a pleasant scent. To me, this product smells mostly of peppermint, which I quite like. It has the consistency of water, so I learned to dispense it slowly onto my scalp so as not to waste it. I quickly used up the whole bottle. If this product were more affordable, I would repurchase it, as it definitely improved the condition of my scalp. Its effectiveness did inspire me to attempt to concoct my own scalp treatment mixture until the recent cut in household income we are facing passes, and I can afford to purchase this OGX product again. I left off one star due to the need to re-apply the product so often, which caused it to be used up quickly. Your scalp situation may not be as severe as mine, and periodic re-application throughout the day may not be necessary for you. If you can afford this scalp treatment, I do recommend it. It contains effective and soothing ingredients, and is a pleasure to use.

I'm a 40 year old man and get a dry itchy scratchy scalp in the winter months which causes dandruff. I purchased this to help alleviate my discomfort and dandruff. Overall: I'm very satisfied with this product, it not only helped eliminate my itchy scalp and dandruff, but it also made my hair softer, lasts about a week, and has a manly smell. I was pleasantly surprised at how long the bottle lasts, a little goes a long way. How I used it: I applied about half an once it to my hair while in the shower (after shampooing) rubbing it in with my finger for 30 seconds then let it sit for 2 mins before washing it out. this method worked well, the product sticks to my hair without it feeling overly oily. I've also applied about a 1/4 ounce directly to my dry hair, rubbed it in with my fingers for about 30 seconds, and let it sit on my hair. This method softened my scalp more than when I applied it wet, it feels a little oily using this method so I normally used this method at night when I was in for the evening. Recommended to: Guys with dry scalp, hair, or dandruff Pros: Smells manly a little goes a long way (1 bottle lasted me an entire winter) eliminated my itchy scalp feeling Dandruff was almost completely eliminated Cons: high price (I feel it's a fair price for its valve)

First, do not use this if you have a dry scalp. It is good if you have an oily scalp and have dandruff related issues due to oil. If you have a dry scalp and have flaking due to that, do not use this. It will dry out your scalp even more and make it worse. However, that being said, it feels so great and soothing (probably due to the mint) on your head and it smells great too. That is not worth how much flakier my head got. Also the liquid is very much like water and will pour out if you squeeze the bottle. The consistency is not like oil. It does make a great gift though. It's nice and compact and I gave it to my sister who does have an oily scalp and loves tea tree. She was excited.

Amazon keeps pushing me to their rosemary version… No desire to smell like an old lady's rosewater and, moreso, this was a great product. WTF OGX?

Love this product!! I hope it never gets discontinued bc it has helped my hair and scalp so much!! My hair grows so much faster when using this consistently. Feels healthy and fresh!!

I've been using this product for around 6 weeks and I can't live without it. I've had itchy scalp right on the base of my head for a little over a year now. I stepped up my hair game and tried the top shampoos and conditioners to no avail. I started using this product just at the base of my head (problem area) and immediately noticed a difference. Since then I've started using all over my head after every hair wash. I also use a scalp massager to really work it in. This product is magic! It really truly worked for me and it smells great. The bottle seemed very tiny when I first purchased but 1 bottle has lasted me 6 weeks. I am absolutely reordering
