It honestly adds zero functionality, but it works great for making card payments more intuitive to the customer. It sits on the counter and customers know to tap to pay. Far fewer questions about what to do than when I just had the square reader sitting there. It doesn't add any functionality but it just makes everything flow more smoothly.

Yep, compatible with gen2, nice that you can unplug the USB cord but leave it secured in the weighted stand, a very good item and value.

As an IT director, I have 3 of these units in service in a coffee shop and a concession stand. Absolutely zero problems and 100% compatibility with the Square tap and chip reader. Keeps the reader at a perfect angle for sliding into the chip reader and maintains charge on the reader. It’s my go to.
