KNIPEXRennsteig 9R 471 002 3 Screw Extractor Double Edge, Size 2, Black

I had 4 broken exhaust manifold studs on my old pathfinder that needed to be removed. I never have much luck with the easy-out style of extractors so I tried these. They worked excellent. I purchased left handed drill bits and size 1 and 2 Rennsteig extractors. It took more time to get the exhaust manifolds off than it took to drill and extract the studs.

I bought this product to help remove a rusted 10mm*1.5in (size 2 is perfect) bleeder screw from my brake caliper. Long story short I ended up buying new calipers, but I do not believe that the product failed. The screw was crazy seized up in there, in fact, the Vermont American screw extractor I bought completely broke off in the screw which is why I bought this one. This Knipex actually started to scrape away some of the screw, when I would go to turn it I'd be keeping my fingers crossed while moving very slowly hoping to not break it, because I realized that I am using more strength than I used with the Vermont American one. Lo and behold the Knipex does not break and I just end up with a wider and wider hole.The screw didn't come out but this thing is super tough and should work for the majority of folks.

Works great. Good harden German steel. It did the job well. I removed bolts from a engine block. drill the hole tapped in place and turned out old bolt.
