Gear Head Wire Mesh Extreme Cooler with Blue LED's (CF3950ML)

This is a very lightweight base. Fan noise is greater than I'd hoped, but unit is not excessively noisy. Blue LED base light is a cool effect and the extra USB port is an essential feature since the base utilizes one laptop USM to power the fan and light. My only real complaint is that the fold-out rear "legs" collapse easily. A better design would have them "lock" open and/or closed so that they don't become a hassle. I like the extra elevation they provide. Duck tape addresses the problem described.

Flimsy as all get out, the feet don't lock, and the USB ports definitely feel like they need to be sturdier, or I can see them being pushed into the chassis...but, for 14 bucks?It works and works pretty well. Just don't press the bottom fan portion, as that's where the plastic is thinnest, and it causes an immediate clicking from said fan. Aside from that? All good. It keeps my laptop from melting and I can use it to keep other electronics from doing the same.

This cooler is so quiet I have to look under my laptop to make surer it's running. It doesn't put out as much air as the old one it replaces but my laptop doesn't get hot anymore. I gave it 4 out of 5 stars because nothing is perfect.

The light is actually a bit distracting. The fan works ok. I used it with several laptops. If you're using a particularly older laptop that's heavy the fan does tend to stop spinning due to weight.

For the last 7 years I have been using a cooler that, from the outside, looks identical to this one. That's where the similarity ends. This is a very cheap copy. The plastic is of the lowest quality and bends at the slightest of pressure. The fan is noisy and small (relative to my original) made of cheap plastic blades that rub all the time against the casing. The top metal mesh is thinner than my original and perfect for pressing down into the fan. I can only imagine how this cheap copy came to be. It might be good for resting a smart phone on but it definitely won't do for a laptop. May my old cooler rest in peace.

Very effective, haven't had any cooling problems since I bought it. The USB power works fine, the LED is hidden from the front (might be annoying for those who watch movies on their laptops though), I haven't had any slipping problems (it's between my laptop and a lap desk). Definitely worth the price.

I would never be without one of these my laptop is kept nice and cool every single day that it's running and there's absolutely no noise from this device it's a great purchase
