Excellent hydroponic system. These have a shallower tank, so they don't seem to require a pump, but they do require you to change out the water a lot more often. I appreciate that you can grow different plants more easily without any risk of the roots trying to merge with other types of plants. Like any hydroponic system, what can be grown is a lot of trial and error. We've found Kale, Romaine and Swiss Chard grow very well. We have gotten a lot of good salad leaves from it. This system grows just as well as our deeper hydroponic tank from the same brand that does have a pump. It just requires a bit more work and attention.

I have used this for seed starting, to growing my leafy greens. People are complaining it doesn’t have a pump, seriously it isn’t needed. I have 2 with a pump, and three of these without a pump. Everything has grown equally the same. I like that I can raise the light up, so taller plants have room to grow. I like that I can use 2 trays or all 4. This system is so easy to use. Even a beginner will be successful growing, whatever they choose. There is more versatility with this 20 pod hydroponic system. I plan on getting a couple more of these for myself, and plan on gifting these for others at holiday time. I have no complaints whatsoever, this IS an awesome system!

I am very happy with my purchase I actually bought 2 of them. One of them I planted a salsa mix of jalapenos , tomatoes, onions and cilantro which some of the seeds germinated by day 2. In the other I planted a fruit mix of strawberries, blue berries, black berries , raspberries, and apples. The Salsa mix has been amazingly fast growing the fruit mix however only the apple tree, and blueberries have sprouted. I know berries are usually slow starters. But my garden is just over 2 weeks old. Already needing to separate and plant the extra plants that are trying to grow from the holes. You change the water every two weeks and add a little from bottle a and a little from bottle to the water and then set your timer for the # of hours of light you want and it will run for that long and it remembers the length and will automatically turn on. However if you hit the power button to turn machine off the lights won't come back on automatically. I like how there are 4 individual containers with 5 holes each that are removable so you can put them outside or in a sunny window the height of the light is adjustable. you need to make sure you get the poles holding up the light screwed in tightly. I am already asking for a 3rd one for my birthday in 2 weeks. The pictures of my garden are just 3 days shy of the 3 week mark and the last picture was the 2nd day if my garden I pulled out the ones that had already started growing by the 2nd day for the picture.

I had a lot of trouble using this thing, getting seeds to germinate, and how to make this function in a way that makes plants grow and be useful. Here's how to make it work: 1) whatever seeds you want to use, put them on a wet paper towel in a ziploc and leave them in your window until they start to sprout. This will take ~1 week, depending on the plant/seed type. 2) use 1.5 L routinely so the sponges stay moist and the roots don't dry out; the plant will begin to give up and wilt if you don't keep enough water in there, even if there's enough water to keep the lowest parts of the roots wet. 3) when you get the sponges wet, don't use straight water - use the same water with Food-A + Food-B blend you'd use in the container. 4) once seeds sprout and start to grow in the paper towel, pick a whole bunch of them (like 7-8 seedling sprouts) and place them all over the wet sponge in the deep center and on the top. Some plants prefer less air, some prefer more, some prefer more shade, some prefer less. You won't know until you see which seeds take root and thrive and which die. 5) don't use the stickers that provide shade. They'll stall seedling growth by many days and they work against growth. 6) keep a 3 mL syringe and a 5 mL syringe so you can measure Food-A/B exactly right, and so you can re-wet the tops of the sponges periodically. 7) every week, even as the plants are getting bigger, take 2-3 mL and re-wet the tops of the sponges even if left under the plastic caps because it seems to revitalize the speed these seedlings grow. Overdoing it will drown and root-rot, so don't over-do it. Every 5-7 days, having the tops of the sponges re-wetted is plenty. 8) tomato plants will drink an insane amount of the water, so be ready with gallons on gallons of distilled water. I ended up buying a distiller so I didn't have to drive to the store and get more every week. It was expensive, but I've had this thing for over a year and it has already paid for itself.

Being a gardener all my life, over 40yrs, growing crops comes easy for me. I have a Aero Garden for indoor gardening during the harsh cold season and absolutely love it. Desiring to gift my joy of gardening to my elderly parents, I purchased your product. Bad choice all around! My expectations were high, and comparing it to my current product only brought frustration. There is nothing easy about setting up / the directions or continual use. My parent's could not figure it out. Adding to the frustration, the water must be ‘changed weekly’. Rather than just adding additional water. This was peculiar being that my other unit is self sufficient to the point of only adding water /liquid fertilizer when the censor light blinks. The light will go off after it’s cycle and must be manually turned back on. Older folks cannot keep up with this although they too love gardening. The product feels light and cheap. I won’t be purchasing this brand in the future…. Circling back around after six weeks: After making a real attempt at growing in this, I give it a 2/10. I believe the issue is standing water. There is no circulation of water-flow as in other types of units. This is causing stagnation.
