This was great quality and a perfect topper for a diaper “cake” I made for a baby shower. Love that it also came with a small velveteen rabbit book that the rabbit was holding. I removed it for the cake since I wanted the rabbit to be holding a pacifier, but I thought it was a great touch.

Perfect companion to the book
Only velveteen rabbit I’ve ever seen that is true to the illustrations. His “fur” feels pretty close to true velveteen while being made of modern materials, the eyes have the old world qualities of glass while still being plastic. The bottom is weighted with plastic beans so it can sit up like the rabbit in the book. I only gave him four stars because I feel the toy is a bit stiff. I’d imagine some kiddos wouldn’t enjoy sleeping with him for this reason, but I can also see how the appealing textures of faux velveteen and satin would make up for it. I also gave him four stars because the price is a bit steep for the size, but for those that have been looking for a true companion to the book, this is quite literally the best one I’ve ever seen.

For gifts, I love to give a book and a book buddy.I bought the classic the velveteen rabbit book.I found the original bunny from the book on Amazon.The kids love books and buddies.It such a charming little bunny.I can see why all it's fur would be loved off.

Exactly as depicted in the book!
This is one of my all-time favorite books. I am a librarian. The rabbit is absolutely 'velveteen', not a quality velvet, which is completely accurate and a factor in the story. His ears are 'sateen', not satin, again, important to the story. For those looking for a very high quality rabbit, this isn't it, because the point is to make him true to the story. Please read the story and value the attention to story detail before expecting a Steiff quality animal at a fraction of the cost.
