Much more effective than the cellulose sponges. I just wish the washing surface was a bit larger.

works great..holds up well

I've been looking for a wool sponge for a while and have seen many reviews of other product being flimsy, feeling unnatural, or having excessive debris. This is a great wool sponge and I'll be buying more. It's a bit coarse upon first receiving it, but it softened up after 10 minutes in water and has had a nice, firm yet not scratchy, texture since and it's held up very well.

Previously, I had bought another brand of sea sponge that was made for babies, but it was expensive and a little small. So I bought this one in hopes it would work because it was half the price for more product. Plus, a few other reviewers said they used it for their baby and liked it. It is not ideal for a baby. The sponge is much more firm, which is hard to get into the smaller cracks and crevices of a baby’s body. It’s also slightly rough on the edges of the natural sea sponge and soaking it in water doesn’t soften it enough. I’ve noticed my son squirms more or beds forward whenever I use it on his neck and chest in particular, looks uncomfortable like it is scratching him. The reaction causes him to move around more in the tub and risk him slipping under the water, so we had to stop using it. It’s fine on adult skin, just not a great product for baby’s skin.
