Nature Valley Fruit and Nut Granola Bars, Dark Chocolate Cherry, 6 ct, 7.4 OZ

I used to buy the larger box of these at Costco, but they've stopped carrying it and only carry the chocolate coated ones now - - - happy to find this here at this great price. These are one of the few granola bars out there that satisfy everyone. Many other bars have chocolate or candied bits in them, or have a chocolate or some other sweet coating on them. Those are too much like candy. Other true "healthy" ones just taste like sawdust to me. These are the perfect in between. There are dried fruit and nuts in them and they're sweet without being candy-like. My husband likes sweet & salty snacks, so he'll often grab one of these along with a handful of mixed nuts to satisfy that balance. They're nice and chewy and don't crumble and make a mess like other crispy bars do. They do get smashed and bent in my pocket or purse, but other than being visually misshapen, they still hold together in one piece and there are no crumbs or mess that falls out when you open one. We keep a couple of these everywhere - - in my purse, gym bag, in the car glove box, in my jacket pocket when we're snowboarding . . . we keep them in the fridge too. They're a bit firmer when chilled but soften up again when brought to room temp. They are great for grabbing when you just want a quick little something. If reaching for one of these keeps my hands out of the Frito bag that's validation enough to always keep a stash of these around.
