![Thor: The Dark World [Blu-ray 3D] [2013] [Region Free]](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/514nSPlTzZL.jpg)

Action adventure sequel which sees Chris Hemsworth reprise his role as the Marvel Comics superhero Thor, based on the mythical Norse God of Thunder. After the events of 'Marvel Avengers Assemble' (2012), Earth and the Nine Realms come under attack from the powerful Malekith (Christopher Eccleston) and his age-old army that have existed since even before the creation of the universe. With the enemy proving near impossible to defeat, Thor approaches his adoptive brother Loki (Tom Hiddleston) for help, despite his villainous past. Meanwhile, the hero becomes reacquainted with the woman he loves, astrophysicist Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), and takes her to Asgard in an attempt to protect her from harm. The cast also includes Anthony Hopkins, Stellan Skarsgård, Kat Dennings and Zachary Levi. Review: Great fun in 3D! - I wasn't keen on the slow pace of the first Thor movie but caught this on TV and decided I'd like it in my collection, particularly seeing the spectacular graphics in 3D. I'm glad I did! If you have a 3D 4K OLED TV, it's great, because you get flicker-free HD 3D, and this works really, really well. It's great when impressive and involving imagery tells a dynamic and fun story, and this was a very enjoyable watch. Highly recommended! Review: Underrated - Great film. Excellent use of Loki. Brilliant score from Brian Tyler. The major character death has more impact than all the quick kills in Ragnarok. Finds a nice balance between serious moments and humour without going as goofy as Ragnarok. If you hadn't seen it before Endgame then a certain scene would have much less poignancy. I don't understand why many people think this is one of the worst marvel movies. I've seen it well over 20 times and still think it's great.

Another great addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe
I'm a self confessed superhero addict who will watch anything remotely linked to Marvel and DC. That said I continue to be particularly impressed with Marvel's cinematic output and the ever-expanding universe they have created. I was eager to watch Thor: The Dark World again after my first viewing at the cinema and opted for the 3D Blu ray version. The film itself looks stunning but I don’t think it’s necessarily essential that you see it in 3D. The sequel picks up from the events of Avengers Assemble and the first Thor film. Thor is busy restoring peace in the nine realms, the Bi-Frost has been repaired and Loki is languishing in the cells of Asgard as punishment for his actions in New York. Alan Taylor (of Game Of thrones fame) takes over directing duties from Kenneth Branagh who did a great job on the first film. His style fits the story well especially the scenes set on Asgard and he does a great job managing the films’ huge action set pieces. The plot is revolves around the return of an ancient evil race of Dark Elves led by Malekith played by Christopher Eccleston. Although Malekith is played well by Eccleston his character isn’t really developed or given much of a motive other than wanting to return the universe to darkness. Therefore, he’s largely forgettable when compared to the first films antagonist Loki who once again steals every scene he’s in. The films’ McGuffin, the Aether also lacks menace and impact but Malekith’s right hand man Algrim is a worthy foe to Thor once he undergoes his transformation into the formidable Kurse. The relationship between Thor and Loki remains my favourite aspect of the Thor films and the two actors obviously relish playing these roles. Natalie Portman's Jane character is given more to do in the sequel and has a great moment when confronting Loki. The climatic battle features some inventive world hopping action and finds time for a humorous sequence in London’s underground. The film in general contains more humour than you might expect for a sequel, which are traditionally darker affairs than their originals. It sets up another instalment with a final scene twist that many may see coming and be sure to stick around for the traditional post credit scenes, one teasing an upcoming Marvel Phase 2 film and another more light-hearted clip dealing with Jane’s ongoing abandonment issues. Marvel continues to set the standard for creating a cohesive and involving cinematic universe and Thor: The Dark World is a worthy into the series. The film is full of action and humour and I for one can’t wait to see what happens next to my favourite Asgardian Thunder God. The Blu ray contains multiple extras including a look at the upcoming Captain America sequel but the highlight is the All Hail the King short film which looks at what happened to Ben Kingsley’s character following the aftermath of Iron Man 3

Awsome as always
I love the Thor movies even more than the iron man series but the marvel series is wonder all the same. Not a bad one yet. The 3D is great and I'm 2D the visual is very good as well. Sound is good but if you want to really enjoy the audio don't bother with a sound bar that you get pushed to buy. Get a 5,1/7.1 home theatre system

This is a great movie with excellent 3D, compelling characters, and a good storyline. Visually it's very dark in places (befitting the title and setting), but that only detracts slightly from deep, well-done 3D. Like the rest of the Thor trilogy this movie is a bit more corny in spots than I would like, but nevertheless Thor remains my favorite movie world Avenger. And even though I hate what Marvel did to him in Endgame, I can always go back and enjoy The Dark World. Recommended!

I absolutely loved this film!! So Why Did I only give this version Three Stars??? Answer: Because It Is NOT, I repeat NOT an Unrated version of the original film. IT IS THE SAME THING as the Theatrical version!!!! The Packaging is Misleading! Beware! A True unrated version would have additional footage restored into the film, as well as footage that the rating board that would have made this film a "R" , "NC - 17", or even a "X" Rating. The Theatrical Version - "5 Stars", I repeat "5 Stars". Not this version, Due to Misleading Packaging. On Could Call the Unrated packaging a Out Right Lie.

I liked this movie when I saw it in the theater. I am one of the few who thinks it is good. Sure there are problems, but I still like it. I give it one less star becuase this 3D version comes with a blu-ray and when I watched the Blu-ray, not the 3D, the movie was very dark. As if someone turned down the contrast of my TV. I had to get rid of all ambiant light. Still a good flick.
