Sharp Automatic Pencil, (0.7mm), Blue Barrels, Pack of 2 (P207BP2-K6)

Possibly the finest writing implement ever devised by man. Bought these to replace the one I first acquired while in flight school in 1978. Broke only recently when smashed by a clipboard clip.

My son is home schooled and it seemed he was spending way too much time sharpening pencils. He was going through them like crazy. I think he must have always liked having a sharp point or was always breaking the leads. I finally decided to just get him switched over to mechanical pencils. I wanted basic mechanical pencils for him that weren't complicated or distracting. I purchased several packages of these Pentel pencils along with a large package of refill leads. He was skeptical at first when I gave them to him, but he quickly fell in love with them and will only use them when completing his school work. The only time he uses standard pencils now is for art class/drawing. Since these Pentel pencils are not expensive we have lots of them around for him to use and they save a lot of time and frustration since he never has to use the pencil sharpener anymore during his school work. Since they are a basic pencil he doesn't get distracted by trying to play with it at all. They seem sturdy and easy to use. The leads that came in the pencil seem very durable as he reports they rarely break when he's using them and he has been using them for weeks and hasn't needed to refill them yet. Overall we are quite pleased with these for a basic mechanical pencil for my son to use for school work. I can't imagine going back to standard pencils again.

This is a great pencil, had many over the years in college. Thought 7mm was perfect diameter for everyday use. The 5mm was just too sharp. Other mechanical pencils I got thru work did not live up to this pencil. When I saw the two pack recently bought it so that my daughter could have one and stop struggling with the #2 pencils that needed constant sharpening. Easy to get replacement lead and erasers. I do wish they still had the little metal probe on the eraser to unjam the point if ever needed.

This pencil defines the phrase "bang for your buck," as in, this pencil gives you the most bang for your buck. I've used these for decades. Excellent quality, sturdy, durable, reliable. Very satisfying click. This was the OG fidget toy before fidget toys were a thing! I've only ever had to replace one due to loss or thievery. Love these little guys!

These are my favorite mechanical pencils. I’ve used them for years in my working career to mark up drawings and prints. Mostly used the .7mm size for that purpose and used the .5 size for notes. I also preferred the B lead hardness for replacement lead but some may prefer the HB or H which are harder but less prone to breaking.

I only gave it four stars because I am not particularly fond of 7 mm mechanical pencils, I purchased these because I found blue colored lead refills in 7 mm only after looking for a very long time for 9 mm blue pencil refills. I gave up trying to find my 9 mm blue and just went with a reasonably priced multi pack of blue pencil leads in 7 mm and that’s why I purchased these two mechanical pencils… I absolutely love my 9 mm Pentel mechanical pencil. I’m sure these are just fine as well and I’ll probably get used to using this model with my blue 7 mm leads.

Work great - molded body and metal parts all very clean and well assembled - I have loved using these for years. The 2 pack was a good deal.

I ordered these from Amazon because my local retailers do not stock this model. I have used the 0.7, 0.9, and the 0.5 pencils for years and all have held up without any negative issues. Pentel color code these models so you know which pencil you are using by color without having to manually check. 0.7 pencils are blue, 0.5 are black, and 0.9 pencils are a golden yellow color. Shipping was quick.and they arrived ahead of the estimated date and the package was unndamaged when it arrived. The pencils are shipped with a few sticks of HB hardness lead in the pencil. However, I have found it is too hard for the uses I need so I have purchased the pencil lead in hardness 2B. This led maybe far too soft for both people but it works for the uses I need. I put this hardness of lead in all of my pencils. Although Pentel put a very small eraser under the metal cap, I prefer to use the Pentel Clic eraser. This is a quality eraser that will fully erase pencil mark without damaging the surface of paper. It is fortunate that y local
