Don’t be turned off by the paint chipping and wearing - if your child throws at meets in gravel, it will chip and depending on the humidity, their sweat, etc it is inevitable that it wears away. That’s fine, it’s not meant to look pretty, it’s meant to do it’s job which is what it does. You can get cleaner to rub the rust off if it does get rust. We live in a very humid climate so it does get rust easily and comes off easily. It’s worked great for practice and meets and we’re on the way to jr nationals next week. Don’t expect the shot to keep the paint, just expect the shot to do its job and you’ll be very satisfied.

I have not weighed it yet. However I can say it showed up late and took a beating on the way here. The box was awful and it had a few scuffs but took it like a champ!

Overall good shot. The coating came off but since it’s been thrown off on the gravel, I understand it was expected. My son likes it and used it many times at practice.

perfect for my youth track team. But once you throw it, the outside comes off pretty quick. But that’s what you expect when you were throwing a shot put. works great.

I am very happy that there were so many weight choices. The one I got this time was a non-competition weight that I purchased for a class demonstration. It was good to get this weight and still be good quality.

My son practices at home with the one I bought, he competes with the ones at school; he's doing good at home and at school, thanks to the Shot Put I bought for him, from you.

Remember that this is a 'painted' iron ball....made to be thrown....and in doing so, it will not maintain that nice, shiny, perfect surface. It will get scuffed, scratched etc....unless you buy to just admire it (lol). This is serving it's purpose and was used a practice implement for my son's high school throwing this year. The 16lb definitely got him stronger and better with the 12lb he used for HS. He improves constantly and will be throwing in college next year.
