Yes most likely on a high setting. a 1200 to 1500 watt hair dryer should soften it enough to form the material.

Will this work for use in an engine bay ?

It is depends where you place it and what you intend to use it for. The working (molding) temperature for this is roughly 320 degrees. If you place it anywhere that gets 250 degrees and hotter, the material well soften and/or melt.
