Uni Notes
Bought these for taking notes and they do what they say they will. Nice quality paper that you get the most out of because you can write on both sides. Plenty of pages in them and hard wearing covers

Great for uni lecture notes
Love these books for different modules at uni. The size is perfect and the colours help differentiate different modules. There is enough width on the binding to write module codes too.

Shiny cover, great quality, perfect size
I always thought A5 was too small and A4 was too big, now I have found the perfect size notebook! B5 is half way between the two, so glad I came across these, they are great quality, thick paper and a shiny glossy finish on the cover.

Sometimes just too smooth
At 170 x 245mm this is slightly smaller than a standard B5 (176 x 250mm) -- so it should fit quite easily in any B5 cover. I use it for making class notes with a fountain pen. The paper is 90gsm Optik with line-spacing at 8mm and a 30mm margin on the left. Ghosting with fountain pens is minimal and there is no bleeding. The paper is so smooth that one of my pens -- which writes easily on other papers such as Leuchtturm 1917, Clairfontaine, Tomoe River or cheaper papers like Pukka and NU -- skips. It's possibly because the pen is drier than the others I'm using and Optik seems to like a good wet line. I haven't tried it with biro, rollerball, sharpie etc but it's fine with HB, B and 2B pencils. The end papers are card and in the front there is a weekly schedule. The pages aren't numbered but there are 192 of them. The book is well made and lies reasonably flat. it's been in and out of my bag for a couple of months now without any damageI like the B5 size, which isn't so common in the UKI've given for rather than 5 stars because this isn't my favourite paper -- but it is very good and the books are excellent value for money at 5 for under £17

Good but not great
As the name suggests, these notebooks are aimed at students, but might be suitable for an engineer's logbook as well. The paper is good quality, ruled, with a margin and rounded at the corners. The first page has a section for personal details which says at the bottom 'for people who write on both sides of the page' but the way the books are perfect bound you are probably going to have to crack the spine to be able to do that easily. The covers are thick shiny card and feel sort of laminated, so robust enough to keep but not ridiculously luxurious. These books are for keeping all the pages in, so not for really rough notes where you will want to tear pages out. If you are going to be writing things that you need to keep, without needing to go to the extremes of having something bound in leather or board, then these would do the job, but bear in mind that you would need to have a fairly sturdy surface if you are going to 'write on both sides' because you will need to bend that spine a bit.Although aimed at students, these notebooks might also be suitable for an engineer's logbook but most engineers will have one supplied by their employer. They could be improved by having a writable section on the front and/or spine because if you want to label the contents you will be having to resort to sticking labels on.Decent quality but only average value for money due to the difficulty writing on the other side of the paper and the slightly awkward dimensions.
