Greenworks 40V 17" Cordless (Push) Lawn Mower (75+ Compatible Tools), 4.0Ah Battery and Charger Included

Wow. Blown away by the simplicity of this mower. Unpacking was a breeze. Attached handle with wing nuts already on lower part. Inserted bag and charged battery. Battery charged in less than two hours. Only snag was starting but read directions and safety handle is down then push start button then squeeze safety handle. Does not start if safety handle is squeezed before start button is pushed. Lawnmower is light about half or a third of previously owned gas mower. Easy to turn over and inspect and empty bag. I have a small 1400 sq foot back yard. I had it mowed and bagged in less than 15 mins. Whereas, with a gas mower I would still be trying to get it cranked. This mower just made my yard work so much easier. Cutting grass is no longer a dreaded chore.

I had a few requirements when looking for a mower after I bought my first house: 1. It needed to be ecofriendly. 2. It needed to be affordable. 3. It needed to be easy to assemble. 4. It needed to be lightweight and easy to use. 5. It needed to have a push button start. 6. It needed to cover a half acre lawn. 7. It needed to have excellent reviews. For the first month in my home, I borrowed a riding lawn mower because I was intimidated to use the push mower. Then, I gave it a try. OMG- I’m in love. This mower is a single mom’s best friend. It was affordable, eco friendly, and easy for me to assemble without assistance. I bought two batteries and charged them both just in case. My lawn is mostly flat, but I have trees and landscaping to maneuver around. It was so easy to push that my 7yo and 9yo could push it without a problem. They gave it a try and could easily maneuver it. I’m usually athletic and in great shape, but I’m just starting to recover from Covid and have very little energy. Yet, I was able to mow the entire lawn. If I’d had more energy, I could have finished the half acre (or most of it) on one battery. As it is, I easily switched the batteries out when it died to finish the yard. It worked great, and the settings were easy to adjust for height. Plus, I bought the leaf blower, the weed eater, and the hedge trimmer in the same brand. They all use the same battery. They’re all easy to assemble and use — and affordable especially compared to other types of lawn equipment. I just swap out the battery to do all the parts of my lawn to keep it looking nice. I’m a busy single mom and am self-employed. I don’t have a ton of time, and this mower was so easy to push that it took very little time. I didn’t use the part to collect grass clippings in. I might use that another time, but I didn’t feel like using it this time. If there’s a con at all, I guess the battery could last a little longer. Do yourself a favor and buy two to keep charged. They could come in different colors, too, but I honestly don’t care about that so it’s not an issue for me. I have never been so pleased with a piece of lawn equipment. I love the brand, and I love how easy it has made this household task. Don’t hesitate; buy it. No, I’m not being paid for this review … Although if the company wants to send me extra lawn equipment, I’d happily accept. ;) Either way, I’m going to tell everyone how awesome this mower is - especially for single moms and people with smaller lawns.

Its a great electric mower, battery lasted me about halfway through the front yard and got all the way through the backyard on a charge. Considerably lighter than a gas mower and was easy to set up and get working. Battery does not come charged but charges in about 3 hours.

For how small and lightweight this mower is, I'm VERY impressed. Been using twice a week (large area I don't feel like doing in one day) for months now and it's still kicking. It sounds like it struggles a bit in particularly thick grass, but it gets the job done. The mulcher is delightful and makes cleanup non-existent and the bag holds a good bit of grass. Buy extra batteries though, unless you have a very small yard. One will last about 30 min or so depending on grass thickness. Very easy to wheel around and great value for money, plus no need to buy gas! Just recharge the batteries and go.

Wow. This purchase was a $300 mistake. I had high hopes for this Greenworks lawnmower, but I wish I had read all the "1 star" Amazon ratings before purchasing. The battery only lasted 15-20 minutes before needing a re-charge, so you had to wait a couple hours before finishing the yard. After only one season, the battery died. It started blinking red lights and wouldn't hold any charge, and the manual says this means it's defective. I tried daily for a week to reach the Greenworks manufacturer customer service for a replacement, since it is covered by a 3-year manufacturer's warranty. Good luck with that! After several attempts over a week to reach Greenworks using the number on their website, I gave up. Sometimes the CSR number didn't work at all, sometimes the voicemail prompts would disconnect my call, sometimes I waited for on hold 1.5 hours and no one came to the line. Then I tried several days to use the website's online chat, and some days it didn't work at all, and other days I got as far as waiting for a live person to come to the chat, only to be left hanging indefinitely. After waiting for the chat agent for an hour a couple of days, I gave up on that. Then I read other Amazon 1-star reviews and almost 300 customers had defective batteries and absolutely no success reaching Greenworks customer service. As a last resort, I called Amazon.com to see if they could intervene. Amazon escalated my request to supervisors, but both times I called, I was put on hold then disconnected after 1/2 hour. Or they said they'd call back in 10 minutes, but never called. I've researched other 40V lithium ion batteries, and most of the major brands had the same problems as the Greenworks. I'm probably going to go back to a gas powered mower. Battery operated mowers looked good on paper, but not so good in reality. I suggested to Amazon that they not sell this product on their site anymore, but my call was disconnected.

Love this machine. Easy to operate, you can adjust the height (very handy), mow your lawn quickly without the mess. Starts easily, no gas fumes and 5ah battery last about an hour. Job well done.

Excelente producto

So far this mower is great, the only issue we have is the battery never seems to fully charge so it doesn't last very long, can only get half the lawn done at a time. Not sure if battery is a dud, or they are just bad quality.
