An nice sturdy blade for the price.
I still can't believe that I bought this D2 steel knife for $23.59. Amazon delivered a multiple item package that was missing this knife, even though the invoice said it had been delivered with everything else. But Amazon made good on it.I can’t find anything wrong with the knife, and I looked. I’m a hands-on person that frequently needs to use a blade. And I don’t hesitate to write critical reviews when I’m not pleased with products. The Flissa came sharp enough to shave the hair off my arm. It has the Scandi blade grind. The blade is thick, with a steep narrow grind so it breaks open carrots, apples, etc, rather than slicing through them like a thinner blade with a flatter grind. The grind is remarkably symmetrical right out to the tip. The blade is polished nicely. The handle sides and handle steel were not ground as an assembled unit for a perfect fit, but the handle pieces fit very well none-the-less.The leather sheath fits the knife snugly, and does a good job of holding the knife down inside. The leather sheath hangs well on my belt, and the leather is flexible enough to bend out of the way when it encounters a chair or truck seat. The handle is just wide enough for my hand that wears a Men’s size Large glove. The quality of the knife is outstanding for the price. I will make good use of it without needing to worry about damaging an expensive knife. The weakness of this review is that I haven’t put the knife to rugged use yet. I may be a bit premature here with the positive accolades, but it accurately reflects my first impression of this blade.- - update after about 2 months.I put this blade through some (abusive) use, scraping paint off old stucco, scraping rust off of a wheel barrow that I rebuilt, removing small limbs in the yard, etc. The harsh work roughed up the blade edge to where it was easily visible. I was surprised how D2 edge rolled and chipped (very small micro-chips) from the rough use. I think I'd read something that lead me to believe that D2 was more indistructable. But the edge also take a new edge just fine. In fact, I was surprised how easy it honed to a new sharp edge just using a medium stone hone followed by a fine diamond hone. I'd also read that D2 was hard to sharpen. Not the case here.It may be that the tempering is a factor with how D2 performs. This D2 is a utilitarian steel suited for harsh use and resharpening. It doesn't have the edge retention of some of the newer, more expensive steels.

Quality beyond its price
I own a lot of nice knives. I bought this one on a whim after picking up another flissa knife for my sister. The quality on that one was pretty good, so at less than. $20 what could I lose? Nothing! This thing is a beast! I washed it off out of the box and ran it over a strop. It cut through paper like butter. The scandi grind is even and isn't too obtuse for the thickness of the D2 steel. The handle is a good size for my medium size hand, but as with the other knife I bought from Flissa, don't buy if you have large hands. The fitment of the handle scales is one spot where the price point shows its colors. I will do a bit of sanding and perhaps put some adhesive under the scales after I straighten them up. I don't consider the handles to be a deal breaker as long as you can operate sand paper lol. The sheath isn't bad looking and functions well. There isn't a drain hole but one can be put in easy enough. The spine of the knife is great for scraping or striking a ferro rod. If I had to run this order back, I'd have probably sprung for the better scales. I was being cheap. If you are reading this review looking for an entry level bushcrafter, or as a gift for someone that has and intrest in bushcrafting, don't hesitate! Buy it before word gets out and the price triples! I would suggest the upgraded handle though.UPDATE!: I have owned this knife for a few months now and I'm more impressed. As I own a lot of knives, this one was put on yard and garden duty. I've dug out more dandelions and thistles than I care to talk about. It's cut a bunch of aspen. Starts and raspberry vines from last year. Despite being used as a digging took and tree root remover it remained pretty sharp and chip free. I'm updating this review because of what it took to get that chip tip in the picture. The riding lawnmower found a couple lengths of rope hidden in the grass and wound them around the shaft of one of the blades so tight that it killed the engine. There was a loose end, but it was so tight I couldn't unspool it even with an end to grasp. So I grabbed the knife knowing it would ruin it. I was wrong! 45 min of prying against metal or just cutting against metal to work through the current rope, and an older rope that had been there a while. I lost a very small amount of the tip while prying against it, and have one small chip about mid blade from twisting the blade hard against some heavy steel. I put an edge back on it and it will remain the garden knife. The abuse I put it through was far worse than anything I've ever done in the woods, so I have zero complaints about the damage. In fact, just the opposite. Ill be buying a couple more for truck knives! Buy it already!

Good, but...
I read a lot of reviews on this knife that made it sound world-class, so I had to try it for myself. Was sharp out of the box, even though edge grind was slightly uneven, and I have put it through some hard use to test it out; so far so good. Fit and finish on handle is less that perfect, but adequate considering price point, and is comfortable in hand. After batoning firewood and doing some scraping and digging, edge was still serviceable, and I was able touch it up easily with a stone. Sheath holds it securely, but predictably feels kind of cheap. For the price I doubt you can do better, and would likely do far worse. At $25, you don't feel too bad about beating it up, so I do recommend it as a solid value.

Solid knife
I like the saber grind and the blades is thick and sturdy. Mine came razor sharp, I got the G10 scales. It’s like the little brother of the Ka-Bar BK 2 and less than 1/4 of the price of the BK 16Excellent quality, especially for $20Even the sheath is nice. This knife is more heavy duty than the Mora and has a full tang.Aside from the lanyard hole being a little small, I can’t find anything that I don’t like about it. It’s one of those rare items where you get more than you pay for, I have a lot of quality knives, this is one I recommend to my friends, a few have bought it and are also very happy with the quality and price. You won’t be disappointed.

Awesome and incredible value!
SO awesome. Heavy and feels great in the hand, blade is thick and seems well designed. Haven't cut anything but paper and shaved some arm hair, but I can say it was razor sharp out of the box. Excellent bargain! I'm not a steel nerd, but if this is D2 as advertised and performs as such, will be great to add to the collection. In fact I got several!
