Got these mostly because I want my wife to have plenty of options to deter potential assailants and to protect herself if the need were to arise, and it seems like these could do the trick!Now obviously these are hunting knives, that’s their intended purpose and should be used as such, with that being said I’ll definitely be trying out the gut hook knife when we go fishing next.So far I’ve tested them both just on the shipping envelope and the cardboard box they came in and they seem plenty sharp and solid right out of the box. Speaking of shipping, went for the overnight option and had it by 8 AM, very satisfied with that.My only qualm would be that the gut hook knife does seem to get hung up on the sheath when removing it, but with any luck extended use may give it a smoother release, who knows. As I’ll be giving my wife the straight edge this really isn’t a big deal to me, but if it would be to you just keep that in mind.Happy with my purchase and hopefully we’ll never have to use them for anything other than practical, intended and safe tasks such as fishing, cutting rope, etc.

These blades are fantastic for the cost. Theyre very comfortable to hold, and feel well balanced with the weight. The sheaths are good quality too with a plastic retainer. They're easy to fit into pockets or a small bag without having to worry about the tip cutting through.These are a great gift idea for hunters, fishers, campers, and essentially any outdoors people.

They worked better than I imagined. I was happily surprised while field dressing some game. They could make a nice gift for someone and they might come home sooner.

This is better than any other Mossey oak brand knife or and sharper than any other deer skinning knife very easy to skin a deer with these very durable sheath I bought the same ones two years ago I just wanted to buy them a second time because their trip price is so good I would not recommend any other Mossey oak product thoughI bought another Mossey oak high carbon steel it was too doll just gonna deer with a crappy leather sheath paid the same price only got one knife I figure they’re gonna raise the price of these is why I bought more of them
