I had to order this because I was attempting to connect to some network hardware and the device I was using didn't have a USB A port, and the adapters were a couple of days after this arrived. Quick connection and worked perfectly.

Didn’t work got hot and melted

Worked perfectly on my Win10 computer connecting to my Fortigate. Drivers were included on the disk and a tag indicated you could download them from their website, but it wasn't needed at all. I do like that the cable is flat, but I wouldn't have minded a little thicker jacket on the cables, but for the price, I would definitely recommend it. Nice to not have to deal with USB to RS232 and then RS232 to console cables.

After fiddling around with a few other adapters, an old laptop running Windows XP with a DB9 connector, and trying on my regular Win10 machine, this cable finally worked to connect to the console port of a Juniper EX4200. Wish I would have started with this cable as it would have saved time and money.

Used with putty and instantly connected with no problems on Win10. It'll show up as "Unknown USB device" under USB controllers but is also recognized as "USB Serial port (COM5)" under Ports so there are no problems getting this to work with Windows. It's nice having a black console cable compared to the standard baby blue cables.

I modified the RJ45 end to work for my application, doing maintenance on Alaris Infusion pumps. Works great.

Works great with Cisco catalyst 2960G-48TC-L. I got this because my computer didn't have a serial port. After the drivers were installed it worked great. note: in putty i have to type in com3 and not com1.

Used with a Brocade 6450-48P without issues @ 9600bps and Windows 10. Have not tweaked for higher but, really, who needs it. No drivers needed to be downloaded.

It has been 2 months since I ordered it, and it has been working unfailingly so far.The slim and flat cable design is a plus too.

Works fine with Eaton 5p UPS on a MacBook Pro using screen after installing drivers.

This cable worked perfectly fine with an HP ProCurve 2910al-48-PoE+ switch, and I don't think I'll have any trouble using it with any other switches; it's nice and compact, with a gold-plated USB A connector so I don't have to worry about it rusting in storage, and the cable jacket is soft and pliable for storing it in a laptop bag pocket.The only issue I had was with the driver on my Asus X550ZE for USB SuperCharging; as soon as I plugged the cable into the laptop, Windows 10 gave me a BSD. Hours of trial-and-error troubleshooting and forum searches later, I managed to uninstall the Asus software and plug in the cable without the computer rebooting, and start configuring the switch.I did also try it on an HP 8470p laptop running Windows 7, and the worst to come of that was waiting for Windows to find the driver online, which means that the issue is limited to Asus, so not a problem with the cable itself.
