Well worth trying
I’m quite picky and I love Hot Sour Soup. So I took a chance and ordered 12 packs of this soup. UPS lost my first package but Amazon quickly delivered a replacement. Okay does this taste like authentic Hot Sour Soup? Not quite. However, it is very tasty. Quick to make and satisfying for me. Adding the egg is a must and so easy. I really enjoy this soup as is but you could throw a handful of shredded chicken or a few cooked shrimp in there too. I will definitely be buying more of this.

Spicy hot and sour vegetarian choice
My son and I looked all over for this. Each pack is a quick meal addition for vegetarians. Hot and spicy sans beef or chicken broth. Add an egg for protein. Bottom line, quick, good, easy.

Very good
It's not quite the Hot and Sour soup you get at a Chinese restaurant, but it tastes good. I add two Tbsp rice vinegar, 6 to 10 shakes of Tabasco sauce, depending on how hot I want it to be. While it's cooking, I beat a raw egg in a measuring cup (not to measure it, but because it has a spout). Then after the soup is boiling hot, I take it off the burner and drizzle a thin stream of beaten egg into it while stirring, and the heat from the soup cooks the stream of egg.

It's not ambrosia, but it's a credible re-creation of hot and sour soup with an egg stirred in.
