Good Trade 10/10 will recommend
Well built, controls take a minute to understand. Good sound and picks up radio stations very well for rural areas, most of the stations around me are over 100 miles away. Battery life is good too. Much smaller and handier than I expected! Love the retro looks and old-school button programming, it lets you be as simple or as complicated as you want

the only radio available with an App
It's understandable to be cautious about downloading side-loaded APK apps, but I went ahead because every other feature on the radio worked exactly as described. It's a quality product. When Android prompts you for access to "Contacts" that's not mandatory, so it works without that permission. The documentation was legible and in mostly good english (for "warm prompt", read "hot tip"). More importantly, these directions are comprehensive and correct. No other radio has an app like this, and this allows you to do everything that the physical radio buttons allow. I found the app a little easier to use than the physical short/long-press double-duty radio buttons. But the quality of the manufacture is what impressed me. It is made of a robust plastic and the little speaker fills the entire body, protruding a little at the back, showing that it was accommodating the best quality speaker for that form-factor. The bass is unexpectedly good.It has somewhat gimmicky decorative signal lights but these can be turned off. The amount of personalization that's implemented shows great attention to detail. As an example, they provide two straps, long and short, a screwdriver for the battery compartment and the best one is a little brush, to help you clean away any dust or dirt from the indentations in the outer chassis. These are "above and beyond" features, like the companion app itself. It's unusual to see so many technical radio features implemented in high quality, packed into such a small device.

really loud radio in a small package
first of all, it looks really slick.performance wise, fm/mw (medium wave = am) work really well as does the weatherband. I havent been able to find any shortwave bands in my area, and the vhf seems to be entirely for marine so sort of useless for me. the speaker is really quite loud but not distorted, and when I tested the bass it's got a decent thump for such a small package.having some issues with the radio switching between playback mode from SD card and the radio band, but it's not a deal breaker. the case that comes with the radio has a lot of room in it for accessories so I used a very small plastic case to hold SD cards, can switch over to them easily when I want to engage mp3 mode.the big knob on the right-hand side is really sensitive, had to get use to grabbing the left-hand side of the radio otherwise the station will change (or in mp3 mode, the track will change)overall it's a good radio for the price point.

Limited function for price
This is a regular am and fm radio. I cannot catch the weather channel and vhf good maybe for vhf ham but nothing else. No aircraft and a big failure is no SSB and SW is useless and if you get anything it is only religious or Spanish nothing else except in maybe very rare occasion. The memory function is good for am and fm. The flashing lights are ok for signal strength. I don’t know what the back colored leds are for. The tuning is crude and hard to tune with side tuning knob and front tuning has limited range not good for anything so I just use memory and tune if I have to. The sd card I haven’t checked but supposed to play flac and other formats better than mp3. Size of radio is good and buttons easy to press. Volume is loud. Don’t expect much with this radio and is expensive for an am fm radio. Battery is replaceable with 18650 which is cheap and easy to get. To expensive with what you get and no SSB is a big mistake and for this price should have included it. Extendable antenna is not good because it doesn’t pivot so have to lay down and spin it to receive the strongest signal. The flashlight works but not that bright but the siren is super loud so if you get lost in the woods it can be heard for long ways. It is not water or rain proof so not good for emergencies. The radio is worth about $25.

Wow, DO not discount this radio because of a only good printed manual. This is a Keeper, order two.
It’s been two days still using this radio. Number one, I’m a Ham, WB9UOM. But hold on there, I just wanted a radio to be my Off air monitor for my Part 15 FCC AM radio station on AM 1700. What a surprise. This went from my go-to day radio daily monitor, asking the question… is my part 15 radio station, still there, to late night AM radio listening radio. Which is very personal to me. Art Bell, now RIP, he would have Loved this radio, for this pricing point. Sorry CCrane. DO NOT discount this radio. I only wish for on added feature… the ability to send the output of this radio to a Bluetooth speaker.Lets talk about battery life. Very, Very good. The EQ feature is perfect.Happy newSize is not a small cheap looking small radio. Right down to the flashing light LED bar on the top.Sensitivity is great.Bluetooth is great, except to setting it up, based on manual. Don’t be scared, This radio is worth it!The app. While its great, works fine. But learn the learning curve of just the radio first. Tghe app is a total convenience.
