Recently upgraded the headunit in my wife's 2013 VW Passat SE to a Pioneer Android Auto/Carplay unit with amps and new speakers. Wanted to sweeten the upgrade a little more with a backup camera that looked factory. I had initially pulled a genuine VW camera and cableset from the junkyard and tried it with one of those cheap CANBUS adapters, but that was a bust. The adapter did not work. To keep things simple and easy, I ordered this unit. It looks factory, and no weird janky adapters needed. Just throw a 12volt source at it, run a trigger wire and run the composite wire. Cable length was perfect, I had some extra leftover. The unit immediately worked with the radio. I snipped the guide lines, my wife didn't want them. Video quality is quite good. It's not as good as factory, but is more than adequate for what it is. The build quality seems quite nice too. Overall, for the price I paid both myself and my wife are happy with the end result and feel we got great value for money. Install was easy, Volkswagen provide a channel behind the trim in the bottom of the door kick panels for wires to be tucked. I ran the wires from the trunk deck through the rubber grommet on the hinge and behind the arm trim, and the behind the side carpet in the trunk and under the kick panel trims all the way to the front. I used a small metal rod to fish the wires up to behind the radio from behind the center console and used cable ties along the run to prevent cable movement. Great product, great price.

My base model Audi didn't come with a backup camera, but this unit fit perfectly. Functions great. I used a wireless setup as opposed to hard wired, and it worked out great. You can experience an infrequent bout with interference on the 2.4 GHz transmitter/receiver, but it beats having to run wiring the full length of the vehicle. (Note: This unit only comes with hard wiring for the video signal, I purchased the wireless transmitter/receiver separately) All the connections are pretty straightforward. The OEM connector for the trunk release worked perfectly. I wired into the fuse panel in the trunk to power the camera (using a fuse tap on a slot that only powers on after the car is turned on) and I wired into the new head unit I got (upgraded to a 10" Android Auto head unit off Amazon) using the dedicated Rear Camera power wire. (You'll usually have two to three wiring options off the head unit) Overall, super satisfied with this product. Would expect to get many years of service from this camera, and man is it awesome to have instant visibility out back when I throw it in reverse....no more neck bending to make sure your not going to hit anything or anyone :)) And BTW! Bonus it has both static and dynamic tracking lines. You can just cut the wire for whichever one you don't want to use.

Good camera, works well with my aftermarket radio. Forewarning, good view on stock ride height, lowered ride height for me is 95% street view and slightly other objects if close enough.(Not blaming the company) it works well enough for me so I don’t mind. The clarity is nice for what it is, it is a back up camera so I am not expecting the best of the best. I will say it is better than some OEM cameras out there.

Honestly fut like a glove. I put it on my 2012 vw sportwagen no issues really. The wire was long enough to go from rear hatch to the head unit. And I ran it down and along the floor to avoid airbags in headliner area. No need to wire it to your reverse light as long as you have a canbus system on you head unit. You can take power from there. Decent quality my only issue was I didn't check to see the input so I didn't have it on NTFS so I wasn't getting video at first. Switched it and I got feedback and decent camera angle. 10/10 recommend.
