Pretty robust/chunky heavy metal here folks. It will definitely handle some current, and should last quite a good long while. There's not much to go wrong. The coating on the metal appears good quality, not chintzy at all. Large bolts/studs, you're medium eye connectors might not be big enough, but always good to be overkill on gage, right!? So many ways to use this, but as a general rule, try to place as close to your battery source as possible--this just helps to ensure you have no other bleeds/consumers of your battery, and that you get them all, 100% of the time. If you relocate the switch further away, you can be successful, but trust me, there'll come a day when it's just too convenient to wire a new thing directly to the battery and bypass the switch--so just save yourself that future dilemma and make this switch the FIRST and ONLY connected device to your battery. Use a low gage jumper from the positive post to the switch, something like 8 or 10 gage for regular accessories, or maybe even lower if you're going to run a Trolling motor. Either way you wire this, you can count on it. Not much more you can ask of a cutoff, good connectivity for low and high amperage uses. Easy to use, easy on the wallet, easy to install. Looks and works great. I was working with 6 awg wire which the crimped eyelet connector fit great. I have a ressetable 40amp breaker between this shutoff and the battery. Good smooth switch action and I like the size for my Dash Panel on a deck boat. I wish vendors would show the hole cutout. I measured 1.125 (1-1/8") diameter on the threads and 1.0625 (1-1/16") on the flats. Flats are vertical so I am going for either a simple 1.1875 (1-3/16") hole or 3d printed plate that has a 1.1875 (1-3/16") diameter hole and 1.125 (1-1/8") on the flats.

Install was very simple, works like a charm. FYI - the terminal is about 3/8, keep in mind when installing you made need a bigger eyelet for whatever you are working on. I put mine on a Polaris ranger and had to install a bigger eyelet on my battery cable to make it fit.

I’ve been using the cut off switch in my metal building for a solar backup system. I only use the switch when I need to do maintenance, but I haven’t had any issues with it. The materials it’s made out of appear to be quite durable and high-quality. Red color makes it easier to see in case of emergency
