After a considerable time spent on finding the right purifier , I zeroed down on Philips GP9311. As advertised it quickly removes all odors from the car ( my concern was the rubbery smell for a new car). I found it very useful and recommend this if you are okay to shell little extra money. It came with enough length of a electric cable with which you can put it anywhere including parcel tray.

The media could not be loaded. I bought this Philips car air purifier from Amazon, but honestly, I’m very disappointed. As you can see, I’m testing it right now with cigarette smoke. Even when I keep the smoke very close to the purifier, it doesn’t absorb anything — in fact, the smoke is just moving in the opposite direction.For a product at this price and from a brand like Philips, I expected much better performance. It’s not improving the air quality at all, and definitely not useful if you’re buying it to handle smoke inside the car.So, based on my experience, I would not recommend this product if you are looking for an effective car air purifier

I already have an air purifier from Phillips for my home. It does help a lot in removing ordors etc.This car air purifier looks sleek, stylish. It fits well in the cup holder of my Honda jazz. It had a fragrance capsule provided with it. I found the fragrance a bit overbearing for my taste. So I didn't insert in it when I placed it in the car. It was really easy to install.The purifier has three modes- only the turbo mode was noisy. It can be operated using air matters app available in Google play Store. The purifier was added in the app using Bluetooth connectivity.About the effectiveness in purifying air- it is too early to comment. I will update this review after a couple of months using this.Edit after 5 months of usage:Working effectively and silently. Does help a lot to get rid of ordors. Found filter compatible for this purifier listed in Amazon itself. Haven't replaced the filter yet. Hope it will take at least one year before we need to replace the filter.

Though it is not super efficient but it does it job quite nicely but the replacement filter cost is insane for the dimension of the filter. It costed me 1k from Air expert india. And the default filter is done within just 3months usage at Bangalore with AC on and 1.5hrs of daily driving. Definitely an expensive option.

Nice purifier

It works like a charm as advertised.While the air in the car was clean the rubbery smell went off.The flaws can be that1. The cable length should be 1 m more as otherwise it will create problems for a big car when it comes to hide the cable.2. The cable should have been type C to Type C/ USB. The present one is USB A/B similar to printers use and the otherside is 12V car socket. In case this cable gets damaged then getting a spare will be a challenge.3. Overall the product is good.4. The base of the product should have had some Velcro to make it stick firmly on the car.
