Pelican 8QT Personal Cooler & Dry Box

I purchased this after my last lunch box finally fell apart. I read all the reviews on it and decided to pull the trigger. It's a great sturdy box, probably overkill for lunch box. I meal prep. It holds my 5 sandwiches, and a full size bag of chips with no problem. I leave the tray in and put my boiled eggs on top in a container along with my granola bars and it all closes no problem. The top of the lid, I put electrolytes, green tea, anything smaller and it closes with no issues. The biggest complaint was it would not carry a 16 oz bottle of water standing up. Correct, it wont. I knew that going into it, so why complain about it. You can lay them down if you want. I carry a 64oz stainless steel bottle so I'm not worried about it. They will stand up if you pull the tray out, but the lid will slightly push the tops of the bottle down. If it bothers you, buy the bigger one. Don't read the reviews, buy it, then complain about it. Use common sense. Like anything else, plastic can and will probably break, like the latch. If you throw it around or let it bounce around in the back of a truck, it will probably break the latch. So far, I have had no problems with mine, others have. It also fits in the fridge like my last one. Would I purchase this again. Sure.

This thing is awesome. Keeps my drinks cold all day, even in the summer heat, and the dry box in the lid is great for snacks and keys. Super sturdy—you can toss it around and it won’t care. Perfect size for a day trip or lunch at work. Pelican really nailed it.

This is a great lunch box. The exterior is rugged and durable. The interior is spacious with a small portable ice box. There is a two cup coasters molded to the lid, very useful. The handle is soft plastic easy to hold, but very strong.

After careful decision I like the lunch box. I don’t love it because of the lid. Biggest weak point is the lid container the latch is hard to squeeze to get it open and it can’t fit anything to thick like a sandwich. I think it might be made for paperwork or receipts and writing instruments. Anyway In the new design if they make the lid solid then I could sit on it.

Best lunch box I’ve ever had. Strong and durable. Plenty of room. Keeps all my stuff cold for the day. When I have really long days I throw an extra ice pack in just to be safe. Not the cheapest option out there but definitely the best.

Keeps thing very cool, it is small but well thought out and proportioned. I pre cooled this prior to a two day trip in the heat. (I learned the precooling trick from YETI videos) With the cooling pack in place and a little coarse crushed ice in the bottom, this little cooler kept my beverages cool for a full three days, left in the car in some hot September days. I am happy and impressed.

Its a nice little cooler. I wish it was about an inch wider front to back. The only negative i feel is the handle is not ergonomic. It is not comfortable to hold when loaded up. And you cant pick it up unless all the latches are shut. I like it , but I wouldn't buy again.

Like the size of the cooler, the ice pack in the lid is a joke, too small to last more than a couple hours.

Bought for mu husband for a lunch box. Super durable, stays cold all day when he's at work (outside in the heat on a farm all day!). Great product, would use for picnics too if it wasn't such a hot commodity in our house!

excellent value for a compact cooler. you can tell it's built to a price point though, the handle feels a bit less robust than the other coolers in their range. integrated ice pack works well.

Cooler itself is great. The included ice pack that clips into the lid is worthless on its own - either make it thicker to last more than an hour without melting or omit it entirely and use that space to make the top compartment deeper. Speaking of which, the clip that keeps the top compartment lid secure is an absolute pain to use.
