Great Value for the money!
This was great value for the money! The body comes with a light finish/primer on it, and the neck is finished with a light smooth poly or something similar. Looking at other kits from more known companies like StewMac, those look very similar, but double the price. I thought the Mahogany body would be at least 5lbs, but was pleasantly surprised at 3lbs 9oz. Not too shabby! If you are a parent purchasing this for your kiddo, and they are new to guitar, you will probably want to take it to a music store to get setup, otherwise this might be hard for them to play.I decided to take a chance on ordering one of these guitars after watching Jim Lill’s excellent YouTube video “Tested, Where Does The Tone Come From In An Electric Guitar?”His conclusions - essentially there is no ‘tone wood’, and 99% of the tone comes from the pickups, pickup height and electronics. He purchased a $100 guitar off Amazon, installed the same pickups that were in his $2000 Tom Anderson Tele, and does some pretty extreme comparisons which were very impressive. In the end, he is able to get unbelievably close between the two, including building a guitar out of a 2x4, and an ‘air guitar’ (as little wood as possible), to prove how close you can get. What you take away from that video, is what you are paying for in a guitar is the fit and finish - you are paying for an instrument maker to craft you an instrument that feels good, fits your hands, has the right balance, etc., and the rest (tone, sustain, etc.), comes from the electronics, and how YOU play the guitar. All that being said, I thought I’d put those theories to the test.In my (non-pro) music career, I’ve put together guitars with parts from Warmoth, All Parts, Stratosphere, etc., etc. The Fesley was 95% as nice as those guitars. I had it together in about 20 minutes, and with another few minutes of setting the action/string height and intonating, it was good to go. I replaced pick ups with Seymour Duncan's, and was blown away with similar conclusions from the YouTube video!

Very good fit and finish on the parts
Guitar kit arrived quickly and was well packed no damage. All parts looked in good condition and a quick trial fit of the neck to the body showed it to be just right, fit with no wiggle room but also not so tight as it had to be forced. Also the body and neck are very nicely formed and finished. This will be a present for my brother’s birthday so I have no info on how well the completed kit will come out.

Great guitar if you want to put it together yourself.
Just finished building and it sounds great. All of the pre drilled holes lined up and everything fit nice and snug. The install manual is not detailed enough about what screws to use when and the ones for the bottom pickup were too short. Also the switch I received had one of the black wires not soldered which I remedied. Used a can of guitar lacquer spray paint on the front and a razor blade to remove the overspray from the white trim. Overall if you take your time and pay attention you can end up with quite a nice guitar for the price.

Fun Building For A Good Cause!
This S-style guitar kit from Fesley is my first guitar build and it’s been a great education and a lot of fun! The kit was just as advertised and I finished it in a nitrocellulose lacquer. I also used copper foil shielding in the pickup areas to reduce single coil “hum”. The instructions were clear and the parts fit as they should. I did have one issue with a bad pickup but after communicating with Fesley customer service, they sent me a replacement pickguard complete with pickups and controls! With a little setup work, the guitar plays really well! I am now in the process of building a Fesley LP-style and a Fesley Tele style guitar! And the best part is that I am building them to donate to local North Texas veterans and school music programs! Even my wife is happy as I get to buy more guitars but not add to my collection in the house!! A true win-win!

Fun and High-Quality Hobby Project
I bought this for my husband, and he really enjoyed putting it together. All the parts worked as intended, and the overall quality was good. I expected it to be just a decorative piece, but it actually plays surprisingly well, especially considering the reasonable price. A great hobby project!

Great value guitar build kit, superb modding platform
Great kit for a mod platform. I’ve always wanted a Jimmy Page dragon telecaster, but can’t bring myself to dropping almost $2k for Fender’s overpriced stuff. So, why not build one from a kit? The design stencil was from Etsy, I used my wife’s craft acrylic paints, and slammed out my own “Blackdog” version of JP’s dragon telecaster. After the initial build and some playing, I upgraded to a bone nut, Alnico V pickup set, compensated brass saddles, clear pick guard with cardstock hologram underneath, Fender tuning machines and string tree. I decided to solder the original quick connect pickup wiring harness to the new pickups, so I can swap them out easily. Solid kit, great value. Be prepared to do a little polishing on the frets.

Great value, quick assembly
I have assembled maybe a dozen guitars and bass guitars over the years, never has one come together as easily as this kit did. Excellent illustrations are included. If this is your first time building. I would imagine that if you did not finish or paint the body you could assemble this on a Christmas eve while the kids were sleeping. Everything works. The tuning gears leave a lot to be desired, but at this price point I won't complain too much. They are functional, and I will leave it at that. Plug and play on all the electrical connections made the job too easy as I did not have to break out the soldering iron at all. The only thing I had issue with was the allen wrench or hex wrench, as they are known, that was provided for the bridge saddles, it did not work on all the screws and I had to retrieve a working wrench out of my box. All in all, very happy with the money spent and would highly recommend.
