Very easy to put together and use.
Let me be clear, until I purchased this, I had no idea about worms. This is very easy to put together and use. It is a sturdy unit and works well for me. The instructions, which are easy to follow, are written in a way that shows they were trying to make things simple, but over did it and makes them confusing, and a few things were not addressed (like the coir mat for the lid). Remember the worms can't take much cold or heat, so place accordingly 1. Decide on where you are going to put your container. I suggest placing it off the ground (I have a small outdoor table mine sits on) for the simple reason, it is not a very tall container and getting it up higher will make it easier to use and collect the tea. 2. Put the tap in the bottom collection tray. Place the plastic gutter feet down and set the bottom tray in them. Cover with the white colander tray. 3. Follow the directions for the worm bedding, (coir, pulp egg trays, cardboard, some scraps of compost...) and add to a second bin and place it on top of the white tray. Add worms (I purchased Uncle Jims Red Worms) 4. Place another bin on top of this bin, to add your compost to as needed. 5. Wet the coir mat and place in the lid of the container. Something I suggest is leaving the lid off for a day or two, to keep the worms down in the lower bin. This will allow the worms to settle and keep them from escaping. It is amazing how fast they will go through the food and start spreading out to the other bins, so keep an eye on them. If they are trying to escape, make sure they have food, and the placement conditions are not too hot or cold. If all of that is good, try leaving the lid off and a light on them. It will drive them back down.

Much better and compact than totes.
Does what it needs to do. I do wish I didn't have to tilt it to drain completely.

Does exactly what it says!
I love this thing! Not quite big enough to compost all my vegetable waste, so i might get another one, but this has been great for making worm tea and fertilizer for my garden! I currently have a thousand worms living in it and only have 3/5 of the trays filled and i feel like it could definitely fit more worms. I wanted to get a lot of worms so they can eat my vegetable waste faster, and might still get more. I didn’t end up using the coconut brick yet and i put the coconut matt at the bottom of the lowest tray so nobody escapes out the bottom. I did have a few escape to the bottom anyway, but nobody has escaped out the sides or the top

Same as Vernihut
This item is made by the same manufacturer as the vermihut for a lower price. Overall I enjoy having this worm farm and it fits easily in a variety of places in the home without any smell or mess if you set it up right. Collection is not effortless but easier than a large pile or other farm style. Many people mention that their worms are escaping. I am not sure how this is happening to them unless it wasn't set up right. Also worms will try to escape if conditions inside are not good such as too much green decomposition causing excessive heat, too wet or dry and lack of food. My worms do go into the lid, but I have never had an escapee in 6 months of ownership. Also the top holes are not really large enough for a worm to get through and they won't intentionally go away from food and moisture. The only way I can think of is if the trays are cockeyed and leaving a large gap between the levels.

So far it's great!
In the past, I've used plastic tote bins to raise my composting worms and have always been interested in these systems. I've read all the reviews and thought this one was what I was looking for. The color drew me to it, I wanted black not green or terra cotta color. The second thing that made me choose this one is that it appears to be a mimic of the more expensive VermiHut. Upon reading the instruction booklet, it references the Vermihut while telling how to use this one, so I do believe this is the same product, just marketed by a different company under a different name. I've set it up and it seems sturdy and best of all, my worms are traveling through the holes to different levels. I did spend a lot of time watching videos on YouTube to decide how to run my tower most efficiently and it's surprisingly not how it's set up in the booklet. Give a follow to Vermicompost learn by doing, I think you might just find you need this worm composter.

The worms escape!!
It went together very easily. Super excited as my worms had outgrown their 5-gallon bucket bins. It’s a little too warm for them outside in Virgi is in June, so moved the bin inside (where the 5-gallon bucket system lived all winter). Woke up to dried worms lying around my floor!! Contacted product/seller customer service only to be told to set something heavy on top of the bins. Ridiculous but I tried it. They still escaped. Sigh… I need to order a replacement brand and send this one back. Oh, and it also now stinks because it has to be outside and it’s honestly too warm out for them.
