Perfect for a spell of Remote Working in China
Purchased this Global version to help me with a period of remote working in China thanks to the device supporting e-Sim For my setup i used a physical e-sim from EOITCLUB in conjunction and with NOMAD to provide a 20gb/30day package and ProtonVPN for establishing secure connection back to the UK I tested this prior to travelling to ensure the router would work as intended which did require some support from the GLI team as out of the box the firmware wasn't at a level to open up the e-Sim options on the Admin panel. Once the router had been updated to V4.7.15 all was fine and then just a case of instaling an e-Sim profile and setting the APN that applies to the provide/package purchased in the connection settings. Once tested in the UK i was confident of being able to use it without issue in China and ultimatley did so with ease. I did some initial testing, before using it for work, do detemine which VPN protocol would provide the best speed since i was going to be layering the VPN i.e. establishing a VPN within a VPN for attiional security. For my connection Wireguard gave me the best overall performance and since the network infrastructure is far superior in China connecting at 4g was perfectly adequate for my work needs. The router does get quite hot extended operation not helped with being in such a hot climate in the first place so good ventilation is a must if you don't have a nice air-conditioned space to work in. All in all a great router at a very reasonable cost with excellent support should you ever need it from the team at GLI

Outstanding 4G Router
This is a 3G/4G mobile rechargeable router from the GL.iNet Store. The router comes with a charge cable which has changeable sockets for UK/EU and a 1 metre CAT 6 network cable. Setting up the router is quite straight forward and you can either install your sim card straight away although I found you cannot install it when the router is on otherwise it would not recognise it so insert the card prior to switching it on. On the front of the router are various lights for showing the routers activity status such as battery charge level, Power light, WAN connection, LAN connection, WIFI activity light and also 3G/4G activity light. On the back of the router are all the details for conencting to the router to change its settings with passwords which I would advise changing immedaitely from the admin interface. There is also a recessed reset button, power connection, USB 2.0 socket and WAN and LAN connections plus the sim and also a memory SD slot on the bottom of the router. I should mention that the details of the router say you can use T-Mobile only although I have used an ID Mobile unlimited sim in the router without issue and works perfectly. The admin frontend for this router is very straight forward and if you have setup a normal adsl router before this will all be very familiar plus the frontend appears responsive with no bugs or issues encountered. When using the router for 3 or 4G I found it as good as another 4G router I had and it provided decent connectivity rates. This router is absolutely ideal as a mobile router on the go especially for businesses of any size or for field engineers that require internet access for their tablets or laptops in the car especially as the router has battery backup as well. I really am blown away with this router and its usefulness and flexibility and it is also priced very effectively for what it achieves and thoroughly recommend it.

Good. Better to order direct from manufacturer.
I like the product, you get a decent device for the price, compromising on non-5G but saving on cost and no annoying external aerials, so great choice. I would order from the manufacturer's website in future, as they have a loyalty scheme which doesn't apply to devices purchased through Amazon. It's easy enough to watch out for when deals and discounts match best prices.

Pricey and only 4g
If you are reading this, the you are wondering if this is any good. I'll say it is. It does exactly what it says on the tin. It has all the features described and it's easy to navigate through the GUI interface. Don't forget to change the passwords as you will be out and about using this and you don't want anyone hacking into it. The only 2 things that I found an issue was that it's quite pricey at £139 for a 4G SMART 4G TO WI-FI CONVERTER. This was the price when I got the device and carried out the review. I think you will be able to find alternatives much cheaper or 5G versions out there to keep up with the technology. In terms of reliability, it's on top and won't let you down, as long as you can cope with the speeds.

Ideal For Remote Locations Lacking Normal Utilities
I have a hut in a remote location that's basically off-grid as far as communications go, and there's no chance of getting wired utilities anywhere near it. This device is the perfect answer, and it gives me the same connectivity experience as a user, as I would have living in a suburban semi with a telephone pole outside the door. Fitted with a T-mobile SIM card and connected to the mobile data network I have the same internet and telephone access I would in my main house. This is particularly the case now that landline calls are all being handled by VOIP, with the retiring of the copper telephone line network. I'm delighted with the service that this little box gives me, and I thoroughly recommend it to anyone in my situation. I think it's money well spent for the benefits made available. The only thing you need to check first is the availability of a mobile signal. The vast majority of the country now has good coverage, so hopefully it won't be a problem. You will also need to power the unit, and in my case a solar panel setup covers that. Another benefit I derive is the ability to connect up a couple of security cameras at my remote location, that allow me to monitor the property, and which gives me added peace of mind. If I had a camper van or boat I'd be likely to fit one of these in them as well.

Not all that simple to set up. Works very well but over heats when its using a sim card. Signal is on point even up to 20ft. Its very compact and light weight. Well worth the money. Highly recommend

It's only been about fifteen minutes since I opened the box and this thing is already up and running. It could not have been any easier and it makes me wonder why the four or five different mobile routers I have tried never worked - because this one took about two minutes to configure and start using. That's not an exaggeration. I am typing this on my laptop that's connected to this router. It was amazing. I thought that this seemed a little expensive, but I'm glad I got it anyway. The ease of the setup was totally worth the cost. I haven't yet found anything to complain about. I'm beyond impressed.
