Good quality but less space to kept books

We bought this for our daughter to use for school. Within a month an a day, the handle stopped going all the way down. We missed the rerun window by a day, which sucks considering the price of the piece. We’re having to buy another and I’ll have to tell my husband to purchase a different brand to avoid getting one every month.
