These Pass Through CAT plugs are easier to thread cable through, and crimp into place nicely. I take my time fitting them before crimping, and haven’t had a failure yet.

Used for my Cat 10Gbe re-wire these, in conjunction with a professional RJ45 crimp tool, made connections quick and simple. The feed through type need a pair of good end cutters to finish off. The cheap tools claim to do everything in once but I had little luck with them.

I bought these RJ45 plugs for the CAT8 cable, as the original cable plugs suffered from broken lock tags. Now I use a UNI fly RJ45 to USB-C connector for the laptop, and that has never given me an issue. Yet the plugs do not provide a solid connection. I have to manually push and wiggle it to connect. You might be thinking this is ok if the cable is stationary on a desk. No, that is wrong; it is not ok, period. I didn't try one; I tried three connectors and each one produced the same result. An RJ45 plug should either be a snug fit or have sufficient contact to form a solid connection, ensuring no dropout or signal loss. Whilst these look to be without issue. I've enough IT experience to state differently. Now these are not throughput connectors. That means they cannot be cut at the same time as they are crimped but have to be trimmed to size to fit the internal connector. So you need to be accurate, which I am 100%. I was when trimmed. How? Well, I use a network cable tester, and there are no issues on that score. If you are wanting 100% reliability, especially for POE security infrastructure, I would not recommend these connectors.

This item is for a pack of 20 shielded RJ45 plugs, rated to Cat 8. This review is for the "pass thru" type, so you have to trim the ends after crimping the plug on. Unusually, the plugs have an insert that your wires go into first, and then this is inserted into the plug, making it doubly fiddly. Not quite sure of the reasoning for this, other than to make a relatively straightforward task more fiddly. I do like the fact it has an easy to crimp shielding tag on it, which is far better than a lot of the ones I'd previously used which have an eyelet. Depending on the cable type, you will still have to wrap one of the wires around the shielding and ensure the shield tag crimps it nicely. I used these on some external shielded Cat5, and no issues running at 1Gbps over a 30m run. If you need shielded, whilst a bit fiddly in some areas, these are as good as any. If you don't need shielded, use normal plugs.

These connectors work well Good value Easy to connect up with cat 6 cable. Note that…. and this applies to all Ethernet connectors…. Make sure that the ends of the wires protruding thru the connector are trimmed really flush with the connector, else you may not get the “click” when inserted into the matching female connector. This is very important
