A Good Remote Replacement for the Roku Ultimate.
I finally wore out my original remote control for my Roku Ultimate. I bought this as a replacement and I'm very happy with it. It's got a good feel. Welcome features include... - Power up your TV, adjust the volume, and control your Roku device with one remote. - Easy pairing and setup. - Search across thousands of apps, play entertainment, and control your streaming with easy voice control. - Set shortcuts to open apps, turn on closed captions, and more with the quick launch button. - Rechargeable battery runs for up to three months with convenient USB-C charging. - Backlit Buttons for easy viewing in the dark dark. - Hands-free Voice Control by simply saying, "Hey Roku." - Locate your misplaced remote by saying "Hey Roku, where's my remote?" or using the free Roku Mobile app. It's a lot of remote for the money.

Backlit Buttons Are a Game Changer
When I got this 2nd Generation Voice Remote Pro, I thought I might miss having the headphone jack, which I used every once in a while, but having the backlit keys is so great, I would make that trade any day. The remote was very easy to link with my ROKU Ultra and my TV for volume and power. The voice function worked just as well as the 1st gen voice remote and still has a mechanical on/off switch for the microphone, for those who are security conscience. One major difference is they took away the two user programmable buttons (1 & 2) and replaced them with a Guide button (great for those who use the Roku guide or have a terrestrial antenna) and a Quick Launch button - which will either take you to the Roku "What to Watch" channel or you can program it to go to the Roku Sports channel, The Roku channel (there's already a button for that), turn captions on and off (which you can do by voice command), open Voice Command (there's already a button for that), or launch your favorite channel app. I programmed it to launch my most used streaming app. Truth is, everything you can use the Quick Launch button for can be done by saying "Hey Roku" (or pushing the microphone button) and saying whatever you want it to do. Voice control negates the need for user programmable buttons. Another huge difference is the Gen 2 Voice Pro replaced the clumsy, outdated USB-micro charge port with a modern USB-C port. They even included a 1m (36") USB-A to USB-C charge cable - which charged the 1600mAh battery in what seemed to be about half the time of the former Gen 1 Voice Pro. I didn't time it, so I don't know the exact time. The remote still has four pre-programmed app buttons, which in past remote versions changed by whichever streaming app was paying Roku the most that week, so you never knew what those buttons would be until you took your remote out of the box. I think Roku has always known most people would like to be able to program those buttons with four apps of their choosing, but if you happen to have subscriptions to those channels, you'll be fine with it. Besides, the beauty of having a voice remote is that you can tell it to open whatever app you want, without the need of programming or pushing any buttons. You can also tell it to turn the power on and off, mute, pause, closed captions, or pretty much anything else the remote buttons will do. Aside from the loss of 1 user programmable button (which I no longer miss) and the headphone jack (which I might miss), this is by far the best remote Roku has made yet, therefor, I highly, strongly, and most enthusiastically recommend it!

Replacement for Ultra 2024 Roku box remote
Awesome product. Super easy to set up - even for a senior citizen. Instructions in the box are very tiny, but you can magnify or use your phone to access their url for directions. It was complete within 10 minutes. Rechargeable!!!! Not cheap but in the long run it will be a cost savings (not using batteries all the time). It listens for its name, but you can turn that off if you want. Backlit! Highly recommend!

Great improvement on and already-good product
So, I’ve been a long-time Roku fan, and have multiple older Ultra units that have the remote built like a tank. Unfortunately, one of the tanks finally bit the dust after years of abuse (dropping on floor, tossing onto couch and then bouncing onto floor, and more). At first I was disappointed to see that I really couldn’t get a like replacement for the tank remotes we have, but decided to give this a go. I was also liking but skeptical of the rechargeable battery, as I’m tired of managing a AA battery depot, but rechargeable kinda locks you in. After about a month in, I’ve been very happy with the remote: - Although the remote is light, it has a great “feel” to it, and gives you an impression of a quality component - The tactile response from the buttons is fantastic. If the button clicks, it means it will work. - I’ve charged it once since the initial purchase (~2 months ago), and I only did that because it just seemed wrong not to. This is the remote used in our main room, and more-or-less gets used by 3-4 people constantly for 10-12 hours a day. That’s some serious battery life (again, I’m guessing it would have gone for quite a while longer before needing to charge it) - The backlighting is just that feature you never knew you needed and now wish you’d always had. Yes, this is a first-world issue. - The voice command feature actually works pretty well, although I turn it off because I don’t need anything else accidentally listening to me. I love the fact that this is a hardware switch and not something easily/accidentally toggled on/off. - The launch button is a nice touch if you don’t use the pre-programmed remote buttons for which the various streaming companies paid. - Easily controls the Samsung TVs we have, as expected, and the same tactile response is there for the side volume controls (up/down/mute) Others in the house are sold on the remote, and actually want me to proactively replace the others in the house (verdict is out on that one!)

Upgrade
Roku Voice Remote Pro (2nd Ed.) Review Overall Rating: 4.5 out of 5 stars Pros: * Hands-Free Voice Control: A game-changer! Control your Roku with your voice from across the room, even with background noise. * Rechargeable Battery: Say goodbye to disposable batteries. This remote uses a USB-C port and lasts for months on a single charge. * Backlit Buttons: No more fumbling in the dark. The backlit buttons make it easy to navigate menus in a dim room. * Lost Remote Finder: "Hey Roku, find my remote!" This feature is a lifesaver for those who frequently misplace their remotes. * TV Controls: Power on/off, volume control, and mute buttons for your TV are conveniently included. * Personal Shortcut Buttons: Two customizable buttons for your favorite channels or commands. * Headphone Jack: Enjoy private listening with wired headphones. Cons: * Price: It's more expensive than the standard Roku remote. * Voice Commands Can Be Limited: While improving, Roku's voice assistant isn't as sophisticated as Google Assistant or Alexa. * May Not Be Necessary for Everyone: Casual users might find the extra features unnecessary. Overall Impression: The Roku Voice Remote Pro (2nd Ed.) is a significant upgrade over the standard Roku remote. The hands-free voice control, rechargeable battery, and backlit buttons are all excellent additions. While the price might be a deterrent for some, the convenience and added functionality make it a worthwhile investment for those who want the best Roku experience. Recommendation: Highly recommended for users who want a premium remote with advanced features. If you frequently use voice commands, watch TV in low-light conditions, or tend to lose your remote, this is the one for you.

Great replacement Roku remote!
Feels better in the hand that most other replacement remotes and it's rechargable so what's not to like.. backlit too and paired well with my TCL TV. RECOMMENDED.

Excellent Remote for Roku TV Owners
I love the voice feature on this remote. My previous Amazon Omni TV crapped out after 3 1/2 years and I really missed the voice access. I can turn the new Roku TV on and off via Alexa, but that's it. The Roku Voice Remote Pro gives me all the functionality and more that I had with the Omni TV and the new TV is WAY faster than the old one. Response is almost instant. Definitely worth buying.

A good replacement when your Roku remote dies, and tries to get even with you
So my Roku remote wore out. It decided that I really wanted to watch Hulu all the time and kept trying to send me there (bad remote, bad). So I got this one. I don't care about voice input, I don't use it. But I did want a remote with a Mute button (my old one didn't have it). I have a TCL Roku 32" TV that I have had to put a Roku ultra on because the TV can't run the Netflix app. The remote I was using was one of the OLD Roku remotes, because I used this remote from the ultra on a 55" Hisense Roku TV so I didn't have to mess with the Infrared remote that came with the TV (yes convoluted). So my remote died and kept sending me to Hulu, randomly, for no reason, just because it wanted to mess with me. It was tired and want to retire. So it was made redundant.
