This non-fiction book is a true account of special forces officer Major Sujir Walia of 9 Para (SF) who attained martyrdom at 30.This is not just the story of a braveheart son of the soil but an account of a soldier's grit and courage and never-give-up attitude in the face of adversities. In the true account of Special Forces Officer, Maj Walia, the author, Col Ashutosh, has woven a very emotional and nationalist thread that keeps the reader captivated. One was compelled to read in in two settings. The balancing of one's military profession relentless very high risk operations, living on the edge at every moment, dedication of the highest order, frequent movements for courses or postings), family or personal life and a bit of romance (very natural for a youngster in his 20s), has been portrayed in a very easy but flawless language. The story leaves the reader in total awe about the values and virtues of a special forces officer with complete admiration for all these qualities (without spelling them out). The story about helping an civilian in the midst of an counter terrorist operation, makes one teary eyed and brings out the humane side of Major Walia. In the end won feels sorry that the valiant officer had to go too soon, laying his life to ensure that peace prevailed in the strife torn beautiful vale of Kashmir. A compelling read! Totally unputdownable!

An amazing story of a Braveheart penned down by author Col. Ashutosh Kale Sir is a remarkable and well researched book, highly recommended for young generation. Col Kale Sirs story telling style is very unique and has a close resemblance to my all time favourite author Mr. James Hadley Chase. I am eagerly waiting for more stories of our Heroes from Col.
