Exactly like The Civil Service
A wonderful book for all persons wishing to join a federal/government agency - Police, Forensics, Civil Service, FCO, Councils and probably much more!Having sat the 2019 Civil Service FastStream exam questions I can confirm that these questions were a 99% match to the style and context of questioning in the CS exams - I don't mean the answers/questions but the style and the logic behind the puzzles/working out of the Q. For me even the way of rating/choosing the choice as they are multiple options is identical and, so far, this book is the closest I have seen to the Exams I just sat.For anyone wishing to become great, sharp thinking Bureaucrat and Public Servant, look no farther - this is the book YOU need. It costs a bit more than the others but the quality will soon show, this is a book FOR LIFE.On my part, thank you to the author(s) and Amazon, this book is a great tool to my career and no doubt will come in use again and again. Thank You.

Incorrect solutions, although has some fairly good material.
The book does it's job, however, it has some incorrect answers to the solutions. One example is on the Verbal Reasoning Test 5, it states that "You want a flat that has a combined monthly rent/council tax bill that is not in excess of £600", and the answer it gives is 'C', which has a combine council tax of £650, so I'm not sure how the author believes that to be the correct answer. Again, on the same test, question 1 is also incorrect, as it states that "you want a flat that is within 10 miles of the nearest train station", however, the answer given is 12 miles from the nearest train station. This is very misleading, and gives you concerns about whether or not you are actually improving your performance, or being mislead by the negligence of the author.

Book does not really teach
I'm rather disappointed, yes it's a psychometric book alright, but the whole point is defeated, a book to help someone learnt should in the least EXPLAIN how and why of the answers, it just has the correct answers towards the end of the book. This is not useful to me, and I sadly will return it. I wish to learn how you arrived at the answers, no use telling me the answers.

Time and interpretation a big factor
Gives you good ideas what this test is all about. Practice & Practice helps

It's OK, but could be a lot better.
Not a particularly great book, it has the breadth of all tests you might encounter (bar a couple), but lacks the depth of examples or the techniques needed to train better and spot patterns and mechanisms to solve the problems quickly. In addition, there are a number of incorrect questions/answers in the examples which I find very disappointing.

Helpful .
I bought this book for my guy to help him prepare for Psychometric tests when applying for new jobs. He was quite impressed with it and said it helped him get into the mind set for the situations. It does what it says on the tin basically, and it put him at ease.

Helpfull-ish
I bought this book to further understand and develop my skills in this area for my army officer training. While it does give you an idea of what psychometric testing is, it is littered with mistakes and is nowhere near the difficulty that you'll find in most professional tests. Take it as a good baseline for your understanding, but it ends there.
