Bought to replace my older Cambridge Audio DAC Magic Plus. Thus sounds better but the DM Plus is a nice sounding product too and probably a little more convenient to use

Received the device unopened in retail packaging. Setting up was easy and it worked without any issues. The remote cheapness was really extra, and then when I put batteries in, the batteries quickly heated up super hot and started smelling (batteries in the correct way). The remote doesn't function. Topping's customer support under their warranty section just says to go to the retailer. Unfortunately for them, Amazon is the retailer, which means a month+ long refund process. So i'm keeping this device, but this will be my last Topping device. When you send everyone back to the retailer, and you choose a poor performing retailer....better get it right the first time.
