This was such a nice cast iron press that we ordered another one! Great price and quality, works perfect!

Purchased this particular weight because it has a "flat" bottom instead of the "ribbed" design. I was concerned that the ribbed design units would contribute to the meat being cooked at a different rate due to different thicknesses on the patty during pressing. Has good weight, and the handle is uniquely designed due to the fact that the attachment to the weight on each side has the handle going over the supports instead of next to them...you are much less likely to get burned when you remove it from the meat. Most important reason to buy this press? SMASHED ONION BURGERS!!! If you have never had one, you are missing out! I live in the Tulsa area, and they are common here since this particular burger originated here in Oklahoma many years ago in El Reno. Has since become world famous, and you pretty much have to have one of these weights to keep the onions (lots of them!) pressed into the meat during frying. Love this! Cast iron works well, cleans up well, be sure to dry it after cleaning so it doesn't rust. Smashes burgers well, does stick to it so we cover it with foil/parchment paper.

Does just as it says but a bit sticky the first couple of times you use it but after that works great. Nice and heavy to hold down the burger and helps them cook faster...

I gave this as a gift and it was a big hit! Packaging easy to gift wrap, seemed quite heavy duty cast iron - preseasoning is a definite plus. It is perfectly sized for those smash burgers and seemed easy enough to use, which it was immediately. I'd buy another for other grill masters in the family and am very happy with my purchase

Really high quality, the fit and finish is excellent. The bottom is perfectly flat with no imperfections and the handle has a nice feel and provides heat resistance.
