You need to allow time on paint as it not like old paint strippers that had stronger chemicals but worse for voc and environment. Did the job eventually.

The best paint stripper I've ever seen, easy to use, doesn't smell horrific, took the paint off and ancient door no problem. Only thing is follow the instructions and only leave it for an hour, left the first lot over night, as that's what I used to do with the old stuff, this stuff if left turns to a gloop that's hard to remove. But you can just apply more paint stripper, then your scraper will slide right though the paint/gloop.

I purchased this product two days ago to use on a wooden banister with varnish on it. Unfortunately, it only removed about 10-20% of the paint even after a lot of scrubbing and sanding. It’s just not aggressive enough and requires way too much elbow grease. I had to apply a second layer and even then it only started to blister the paint off a bit. Overall, it doesn’t do what it says on the tin. I wouldn’t buy it again or recommend it.

It might take a couple of applications if it's paint which has been smudged in as opposed to paint which has just been applied normally but it will shift it. I've been really pleased with how well it's helped clean up my stairs that I'm slowly renovating. As I have cats I've covered the stairs with baking paper taped down whilst it's been left to work and just popped the heating on to help the process but it does work. I used sugar soap and a wire brush and scraper to remove it, the wire brush just helps shift the last hold out areas and then I've sanded the stairs down after to give everything a nice smooth finish. I'm not done yet but I am happy with the results so far. 4 stars because it has taken a couple of go overs on some of the stairs.

Apparently this has it's limitations. It does strip SOME paint but it's very weak. They are misleading in their description of it's implied effectiveness. Whatever the paint was that I wanted stripped resisted this stuff almost completely. It clearly has more effect on some paints than others... I feel they are obliged to make this clear yet they choose not to. I cannot recommend this product.
