Excellent As Always
This is the second Hillary Clinton book I've read in the past year. She has become one of my favorite authors and people. She is a bit older than I am but same generation. I think both she and her husband are brilliant people. I did vote for both of them, especially Hillary in this century. What a fantastic example of a honorable admirable woman.

SO informative!
Being raised in the Bible Belt, midwest, Evangelical church, leaning toward Republicanism, I never trusted Hillary Clinton, but this book is a game changer. It pays to read. She's done so much, she's worked circles around me! She opens up a lot about her life, both personally and professionally. This book is very interesting and well-written, I have a new respect and admiration for her.

Vulnerability and Resilience
In Something Lost, Something Gained, Hilary Clinton opens up in what feels like an intimate coffee chat, sharing her reflections on life, loss, and legacy. She begins with an unfiltered look at the pain of her presidential defeat, an honesty that challenges her reputation for being guarded. Clinton’s vulnerability deepens as she reflects on how those feelings intersected with the January 6th insurrection... which makes the chapter “Remaining Awake Through a Coup” a standout and must read. But this book is about much more than politics. Clinton celebrates her lifelong friendships, recounts her efforts to support women during the U.S. evacuation from Afghanistan, and fondly remembers her last moments with her mother and so much more. With warmth and candor, Clinton offers readers a rare glimpse of her life beyond public office, balancing her political legacy with the personal connections that ground her journey.

As if she were speaking to me.
I could hear her voice as I read this book. It's a shame that some people thought to damn her and her book rather than grasp her message of acceptability, kindness, doing good and accepting responsibility for what we have --- and have not --- done to make society and mankind better. She points out that helping even one person is a great accomplishment. I have often felt that I did not do enough in my lifetime, even though I was a big sister (to twins), adopted an abandoned child, tutored non-English speaking tutors (as a volunteer) for many years, volunteered at our local food bank for several years, and love doing that all. Now that I am disabled and in my late 80's, I cannot do much, but she has inspired me to look for ways in which I can still serve my fellow human beings. He book made me feel as I had found a friend, a new friend (althought I have been a supporter of her for a long while), and I thoroughly enjoyed the read (except for the part imagining what the world would be like if DT became prez.). I consider myself a humanist rather than a Democrat, and as such, want to live the rest of my life like that. I bought a copy of this book for me and one for my best friend who said she did not want to read anymore, but dove right into this one. Good to have breakfast with this book; good way to start the day. Keep up the good fight Mrs. Clinton; your words, your thoughts, your beliefs, your goodness is needed mor than ever.

Highly Recommended
Something Lost, Something Gained: Reflections on Life, Love and Liberty is written byHillary Rodham Clinton. Published in 2024.The book is a memoir, a reflection on love, life, liberty, democracy, politics and her (and our) future.Ms. Clinton is highly educated, experienced in all areas of government, served as the U.S. Secretary of State and a U.S. Senator, is very skilled at diplomacy, supports marginalized people, especially women, in the U.S. and around the world, works tirelessly, travels nonstop. I highlighted so much - it seemed like half the book! Her words, her writing style is very calm, steady and very personal. I especially like her relationship with Canadian author Louise Penny. They wrote a very good book together - State of Terror in 2021.I feel like we are having a personal conversation as I read - she answers and reflects on my questions before I have a chance to articulate them to myself. It was a pleasure to read Something Lost, Something Gained and I would highly recommend it.*****

Enjoyed the personal story.
I really enjoyed reading Hilary Clinton's personal stories and her sharing her life experiences. Mrs. Clinton is not just a politician she is a great wife, grandmother and a friend. I also learned a lot of things about life- living the present life and not getting bothered by people's opinion and the importance of hobbies; I plan to attend Broadway shows in New York, which is one of Ms. Clinton's hobby. The books thought me living life with passion but at the same time spending great amount of time with loved ones. My final take on from the book is that at some point " I am going have more yesterday than tomorrow like Ms. Clinton mentioned it in her books several times so I better focus on my inner passion and spending quality time with loved ones.

Started strong, ended up repetitive
I am a huge Hillary fan, but not a fan of this book. The first part is quite interesting as it explores Hillary’s personal friendships which shows the gentler side of Hillary. The rest of the book is repetitive and depressing, warning us about the dangerous repercussions of another 4 years of Trump.
