Apple USB-C to 3.5mm Headphone Jack Adapter ​​​​​​​

Great effective solution to connecting iPhone to either an amp or headphones. The dac is well-reviewed and the sound quality is good

It fits : it works. Need any more be said ?

It is cheaper and better than more expensive versions that I tried from other sellers. There is no hiss at all which is a problem I found with other brands and it was extremely easy to connect my phone to my car stereo using this and the aux cable. It doesn’t feel super strong but as long as you are careful it will last a long time. I had the lightning adapter previously and it had lasted for years and was still going strong. I have no reason to think this one won’t be the same.

On several iOS devices (2020 iPad Pro, 2025 iPaid Air and iPhone 16 Pro for example), when using this with a wired set of headphones (Bose) with the inline volume control and play/pause button, when tapping either volume up or volume down, the volume either goes all the way down or all the way up (my hearing got quite a hit I can tell you). I have experienced this before with non-Apple branded versions, but certainly didn't expect it from an Apple product. Meanwhile, I have a non-Apple branded USB-C hub thing that has a 3.5mm audio connection and when using that, with the same headphones, this is not an issue. I can use it, but have to be careful not to touch the volume buttons else I might be deaf for the next half hour. So, it's great as an audio connector but not with headphones that have volume level controls in the wire.

As expected

I have tried several dedicated USB-C DACs including high res DACS Moshi, iFi, Hidizs S3 Pro Ultra , even the £199 Astell and Kern HC3. I have done extensive A -B comparisons. This Apple USB-C adapter has a built in DAC . Even though it is supports only lossless audio and not high res audio , it still ends up sounding better than all the above and by a good margin , in my humble opinion. I have concluded that there is no point looking any more for a high res USB-C audio DAC , maybe unless Apple brings their own one out. Note this review is about the Apple USB-C to 3.5mm adapter , not the lightning version. The lightning version is ok but not as good as this.

Excellent product. Works flawlessly with Samsung S21 and Google Pixel 9 devices. No hiss or stutter. If you are looking for a USB C DAC for use with devices without a 3.5mm headphone jack, this is the one to get.

Item works perfectly, allowing you to use headphones when no headphone jack is available. The problem i have is to do with the item itself, which seems to be occurant in all apple adapters, the max volume you are able to obtain whilst being used is a lot lower than with other adapters and have moved across to a different adapter because of this.
