I absolutely adore this thing. Something that was bothering me about other filters was that they worked to try and isolate from all directions but rarely actually managed it. This does a spectacular job of it. What a filter! I no longer have to worry about anything but my voice and my music getting through the filter. Not to mention that it smooths down my instruments (which can sometimes sound a little harsh when translated to a DAW). It's such a good investment.

While I would prefer a bit more options as far as depth, the sound isolation of these kinds of units is great. Nice pop screen that is removable, and great end result. What I mean by more depth is a way to translate the interior size to accommodate different sizes of mics and kinds of mics, a bit more flexible. The hanging vocal mic that does fit this has a cage, and that is fine, so it does manage to fit, but some other mics I have trouble with it, and need some extra padding to make it work. So it's not for every mic, but it DOES do a great job at what it's supposed to do, isolate a vocal or direction for a mic from outside noise. Can be used as a podcast mic holder as well.

As a producer, I'm always looking for better ways to record vocals in my in-apartment studio. Notice I said "apartment", LOL - I have created a studio space inside my apartment and have treated it to better record instruments and vocals. Even in a treated space, vocal reflections still happen so having this isolation ball is a godsend!Many times, a vocal performance will require a bit of repair in your digital audio workstation due to the usual ambient noise from recording in an apartment environment, but this isolation ball does a bang up job at filtering out these ambient noises, giving you a solid, "dry" signal that doesn't require a lot of "fixing". As you can see from the pics provided, I mounted this upright over a basic dynamic mic, but where this isolation ball REALLY shines is when used on a boom with a condenser mic, which is much more sensitive to outside noise than a dynamic mic.With a condenser, the signal you get tends to be stronger, clearer, and louder than with the dynamic due to the increased sensitivity, When used in conjunction with this isolation ball, you get an unbelievably amazing sound without expending a lot of effort.This is an awesome, inexpensive addition to any home studio. I may even purchase another one!

I have a yeti nano with no place to clip a pop screen so I have been manually holding one in front of my mouth when I record. Talk about annoying. This is the solution I needed! This just slides over the mic and covers it from all sides. No more holding a pop screen! Perfect for small setups like mine.

My desk is in a corner with flat walls next to my microphone. I noticed I would sometimes have a slight humming and noise in my recordings, even with some higher-density panels on my walls. This isolation ball gives enough deadening to significantly reduce the background noise, and my voice seems fuller and clearer.I'm using this with an Audio-Technica AT2020, and the isolation ball fits snugly around the microphone. It also leaves enough of the body sticking out of the bottom to let it sit in my boom arm setup.

Very nice isolation ball. Useful for those recording with a condenser mic in a spare room (like me!) who need to ensure room reflections don't get into the recording. Even if your room has some foam panels to reduce reflections, this will help to minimize them even more.
