Lonely Planet India (Travel Guide) Review: Lonely Planet has massively degenerated - I am going to India for the first time in 20 years. I bought the 2024 guide. It is remarkably inferior to my 2004 guide and I will actually have to use the 2004 guide. For example on Assam, 2004 offers 8 important pages, 2024 offers ONE PARAGRAPH with no mention of Kaziranga. Pictures and trite travel tips like Fodor's have repleaced in-depth and culturally meaningful material . No longer do you see how to get around, etc, money exchange etc.. No longer is humor interspersed.. I may offer the 2024 guide for free (postage only). on ebay. I used to see Lonely Planet as my bible for travel. It is now toilet paper. Review: Very disappointing - I’ve always liked Lonely Planet, but this new edition is terrible. It’s poorly organized and inexplicably often does not provide essential information such as how to get between locations, and entrance hours and prices for tourist sites! Way too much fluff and not nearly enough nuts and bolts logistical information. Awful. I hope this is not the new Lonely Planet model.

Worst book
I could say, it’s a worst book, they don’t have enough data. Poor information and giving a wrong impression about India including Assam. Honestly I would not recommend this book to anyone. With that note I would give zero points which will reflect as 1 as Amazon does not allow to give Zero star.

I liked the new format of book. It is light weight, more information about destinations with photographs. Highly selected accommodation and restaurants and tour companies. Happy to have this book. 👍 Good wishes from Hotel Shanti Home, Jaisalmer.

Libro essenziale per organizzare un viaggio senza tralasciare niente a livello di logistica. Aggiornato e dettagliato, un'ottima base da integrare con tutto quello che si puo' trovare in internet.
