Why were people afraid of assembling this? Yes, it will may take 1.5 to 2 hours, but: 1. You will find the instructions organized and quite clear 2. A good quality screwdriver with reversible Phillips/Slotted shaft included 3. A cheap, but adequate wrench for tightening the casters 4. Undamaged parts superiorly packed and most are clearly labeled 5. At the end of assembly, a locking cabinet probably worth twice its cost I almost didn’t order this due to the fear reviews regarding assembly, but I am so grateful that I did. I thought that I would take a look at it and if it were too daunting, I would return it. Much, much to my surprise, assembly was 98% straight forward. Here are the minor less than 100% trivial points: 1. The bottom and sides of the cabinet boxes are folding one-piece items. They don’t have letter identifiers on them, but are easily identified. The caveat is to pay attention to the tab slots that the end pieces will slide into. The folding piece must be folded so that the tab slots are on the inside of the drawer box as the end pieces tabs slide in from the inside. This is quality metal and can endure being folded the wrong way and then corrected back if needed. I did this on my first drawer. 2. The design is quite ingenious using folding tabs to help join a number of the pieces. While the tabs are metal, they bend easily enough that I could usually do so with my thumb. If some were a little difficult or my thumb got sore, I used either the screwdriver shaft or its handle to pressure the tabs into place. The tabs were a great engineering idea to reduce the number of screws and to strongly join pieces that could not accommodate screws. 3. I think a review complained that it was difficult to get the screwdriver aligned to put in some screws. I had no trouble with this. Yes, there is a little offset to deal with, but I used a longer screwdriver that made this easy, giving the handle more room to be twisted. I found all of the screw holes to be properly sized, contrary to a review that said they were all too small. They are intended to be small enough that the sheet metal screws will hold tight. These are sheet metal screws, not machine screws that are fine threaded. BTW, all screws were provided, along with a spare one for the support caster, and three extra of the general screws. 4. There are only two very minor errors in the instructions for the 3-drawer cabinet. Step 3 has a typo where it says “Put the rear wall into the cabin with the floded (sic) side …” Of course, it should read “folded side”. Still, I found this ambiguous. The concave side faces outward, i.e. the screw holes are on the outside. Then, Step 12 says to make sure that the “six little tabs” … There are actually seven tabs. FWIW, I chose to put the locking casters in the front, not the back. That is where I can get to them easier. If you are half-way handy, don’t be afraid! This is a top-notch cabinet that only requires minimal skill and some time to assemble. Note that it says to use 2 people, but I don’t know why. It was easy to do alone. Maybe, lay out the letter ID’d pieces in alphabetical order to make following the instructions easier and faster. Enjoy!

The cabinet looks great and functions well. It’s lightweight, so it’s not the most heavy-duty option, but the drawers slide smoothly and it’s perfectly good for most office uses. The instructions were clear and better than many other brands I’ve assembled, but it still took almost two hours to put together. If you’re not into DIY furniture, I’d recommend searching for one that comes preassembled.
