I recently purchased the Gocableties Black Self-Amalgamating Tape to use in a few DIY and electrical insulation jobs, and I’m genuinely impressed with how useful it is. If you’ve never used this type of tape before, it’s quite different from standard electrical or duct tape — and far more effective for certain applications. First off, the quality is excellent. The roll is made of thick, stretchy rubber that bonds to itself when wrapped around a surface under tension. There’s no sticky adhesive, so you don’t get that gummy residue or mess when removing or repositioning it. That makes it ideal for both temporary fixes and long-term seals. I’ve used it for insulating outdoor wiring, patching a leaking garden hose, and sealing around an old aerial cable — and in all cases, it held up brilliantly. Once wrapped and pressed into place, it fuses into a solid, weather-resistant layer that stays put. Even after several days of heavy rain, the seal around my outdoor lighting cable hasn’t budged or degraded. Another bonus is its resistance to water, UV, and extreme temperatures. It’s ideal for use in car engines, garden electrics, and plumbing — basically anywhere a reliable, flexible seal is needed. I’ve wrapped it around pipe joints and even used it as an emergency bike handlebar grip, and it performed perfectly. It’s also easy to cut with scissors and unrolls smoothly without sticking to itself on the roll. Once wrapped, it blends neatly into black cables and pipes, giving a clean, professional finish. If I had one tiny wish, it would be for slightly more length per roll — but given the strength and efficiency of the tape, a little goes a long way. Overall, the Gocableties Self-Amalgamating Tape is a top-quality product that’s incredibly versatile. A must-have for any DIY kit, electrician, or home handyman. Highly recommended!

Brilliant stuff works really well

This stuff is awesome, the tape is thin but string, it really wraps tight against its self. I find it very functional and very useable. My only gripe with it is that it is annoying to peal off the inside tape sometimes. Other than that I love this stuff

As long as you can wrap the tape around the pipe easily and you have easy access of an inch on either side of the crack it will definitely work at stopping the leak on a pipe. great value for money, will save a fortune on replacement parts or plumbing costs. It's not a sticky tape, it's a thick rubber tape. When you apply it, hold the loose end against the pipe and as tight as it will stretch overlapping the tape by 50% wrapping it around the pipe until you get past the leak by about an inch. It will tighten on itself and become solid. It will work on a dripping or reasonably fast leak. No curing time. Great item

Simple to use. When applying make sure you stretch it enough as this makes the bond tighter and more waterproof.

Used this for a bit of belt and braces on some outdoor electrics that will be left to the elements for a few years. It’s very sticky and clings well once you start stretching and wrapping it, though I found it a bit fiddly to apply cleanly, especially in awkward spots. That said, once in place it seems to bond nicely and gives good weather resistance. Not the prettiest finish but function over form. Ideal for sealing cable joins and extra peace of mind.

Bien plus étanche et résistant que du ruban adhésif. Attention ça ne "colle" pas mais ça isole bien et c'est bien étanche. Très pratique. Utilisé pour des antennes radioamateur. Je ne sais pas si ça résiste bien aux UV et au gel, à voir avec le temps.

El truco de uso de esta cinta es sencillo, aunque faltan unas instrucciones, yo ya conocía el sistema, cortas una tira y comienzas a estirar, en momento que vas poniéndola estirada poco a poco va soldando, no esperéis que pegue, porque no es su función. Al final lo que hace es prácticamente un bloque aislado, muy recomendable para instalaciones exterirores

Occorre "stirarlo" fino a duplicare o più la lunghezza, poi si procede alla installazione sempre mantenendolo ben teso. Non ha una grande capacità adesiva, ma il suo scopo non è quello. Si autoamalgama rapidamente e crea uno strato compatto. Lo comprerò ancora. Consegnato nei tempi previsti.
