Review: An easy to understand handbook with loads of great advice - I bought the first book in this series and have recently worked through this new one. I really enjoy the simple, thought provoking way Byron challenges ways we may currently be working as CEO's and helps with simple strategies to focus on what counts while making time for life outside the workplace. Split into separate sections meaning it's easy to find the areas you may want to explore more at any give time, and never overwhelming or complicated, this is the kind of reference book you can keep on your desk to ensure you stay on track and maintain the good habits that Byron encourages us to embrace. Review: The book on effective leadership that you need to buy this summer - I discovered Byron’s work when I took my first CEO role just over 2 years ago. This book is a re-worked and much expanded version of the first. It is a rare sort of book – written in an accessible way, plenty of examples to land the ideas and practical exercises. This is not a book about theoretical concepts – it’s packed with actionable insights. The book is split into 6 sections – they can be read separately, but they are self-reinforcing so my recommendation would be to read it through in full, then re-read sections that most resonate with your circumstances and needs. When I took my first CEO role, I struggled to get my head round what the role was – where did it begin and end. The answer to that question will be different for everyone reading the book – depending on your own skills and the needs of the organisation. Byron gives a framework for working that through yourself – which I firmly believe is applicable to CEOs in small charities to multi nationals. I have used the ideas and exercises in the book with my Executive Team – we are working on communicating expectations and keeping people accountable, shifting the organisation from busyness to productivity. Byron’s exercises have helped us to shift gear and mindset. We all know planning is important, but how often do we allow ourselves to get stuck in the moment, let the urgent drive out the important. For a CEO that has potential to be crippling. Byron guides us through time auditing and a full planning cycle – challenging you to ask the question – is this something you should be doing or does it belong with someone else. I cannot recommend this book highly enough. This is a book you can read quickly and keep at your side. It is fully supported by online resources This summer, if you buy one book on being a more effective leader and person in all facets of your life, make it this one.

Practical and full of examples
Practical and full of really useful examples for time management and planning, but also for being able to grow as a leader. In particular I found it very helpful to see the way the advice and approaches are used as part of real-life scenarios (I think I may BE Jeffrey!!)

This book came at the right time for me.
I recently stepped into a COO role, and it’s been difficult to adjust to along with my other projects and commitments. But this booked has come at a fabulous time and reminded me that just being busy isn’t going to help me or anyone else. I immediately started applying the principles in the book, and my anxiety and stress quickly dropped. All whilst my productivity went through the roof. I achieved more last week than I’d done for the last couple of months. The tasks are very easy to follow along, and the time spent up front will help you save so much time further on. Thank you Byron for creating another fantastic book!

Excellent resource for those navigating people management and organisational leadership roles
I first came across Byron Morrison a few years ago when his earlier book 'Think like a CEO' came up on Amazon as a suggestion for me. I'm not a CEO, I'm a Business Analyst, a manager and an apprentice mentor but the book looked so interesting and got such great reviews that I took a gamble on buying it as I wasn't the obvious target audience. I'm so glad I did. I loved Think like a CEO so much that I went on to read this book. It's a fantastic follow up to all of Byron's publications. I have had the pleasure of meeting Byron now and working with him on a couple of projects and he is such a genius in this space. His advice is excellent, he really sees the wider picture and is able to articulate his guidance in a way that can be easily understood and applied.

Careful that this book does not accept returns. It does not contain too much specific information due to the lack of experience of the author.

This book will teach you how to manage the insane pressures of being a founder in a fast growth company, or a CEO who simply has too much on their plate and doesn’t know what to do with it all. There are some really great and innovative ideas mentioned in the book and I have successfully applied several of them to my life on a daily basis. I have no doubt that you will find the book valuable and something that you refer back to on multiple occasions.

I just finished reading Byron Morrison’s book The Effective CEO 2.0. I decided to purchased it four weeks ago after watching a couple of his leadership videos on YouTube which I found to be excellent. I have been a student of leadership and management for decades and did graduate work in this area. So I kind of originally assumed to book would focus more on best practices related to defining corporate strategy, driving execution, etc., but refreshingly the book focused more on CEO or founder personal effectiveness yet without it just being a hodgepodge of tips and techniques on time management. Instead the book is more a practical philosophy and set of strategies to enable executives to gain control over their lives and their companies instead of the other way around. The book comes with some downloadable tools to help with this. Overall, the book is useful and an enjoyable read.

Great revision of some previous topics - the best part of this book is that you can try the different techniques and double down on those that work for you. Definitely worth a read if you want to be your best self in a senior executive role.

Book is more a sales book for the authors coaching business rather then being really good for CEOs/Manager. No recommendation.
