First Foray Into Gunpla
I got this based off a friend's recommendation. I wasn't sure what to expect, but I was very impressed. First of all, the level of detail from this price point is crazy. Other Gundam models of the same grade (even those that are more expensive) seem to lack some of the intricacies that this model has. The build process was fun and straightforward.Articulation is pretty impressive, but I don't have a major point of comparison with other models. This is the only one I own, but as somebody who works with mono-pose miniatures, this is totally different. Highly recommend for first time builders.

Great detail, fun build.
Bought this kit with the purpose of it being the first kit I was gonna do panel lining on and it was great. Tons of detail for a high grade with lots of little touches that you can really make pop. Get yourself a panel lining pen and go to town; you're gonna have a good time.

So much detail!
So much detail! I am in awe of these new HG. As quick as it was to build I love the panel lined detail - definitely recommend panel-lining with black to bring out the details. Skip the stickers and get decals (WIP).

Decent HG
Like its RX counterpart this Zaku stands out as an HG kit.

Superb kit
If anything, it is the opposite of the IBO floppyness. The detail is way above the usual HG line - It has tiny anchorage points you can barely detail over it etc. The only downside is the usual sticker sheet.Paint: Sanding sponge to matt the plastic down. Black panel liner and acrylic sepia wash. Over that sone panels colored in Tamiya brown (50/50 90% isopropyl alc) and finally instead of brown, used deck tan as a dust/sand wash + qtip later on to modulate the results.Second kit (the green one) hand painted (on the runner) in mr hobby primer, mr hobby Russian green (all diluted a lot and stippled on) and then assembled - Tamiya Acrylic kaki green stippled in places. Finished with daubs of panel liner to darken down the greens, metallic waxes and acrylic spot color. Eye in neon pink solvent paint applied with a pin and scraped back overspills. The orange on the pipes was Vallejo clear orange. No rubber duck was harmed during assembly, but after, oh afterwards…

BE MINDFUL with the tight peg joints!!
Great build, BUT be MINDFUL with the peg joints, assembly is tight, but twisting around the limbs around will be break the ball pegs, BE MINDFUL ADDING some kind of lubricant.Just recommend best kind of glue to use on plastic model otherwise, epic fail fixing
