Get this chromebook before it's gone
I'm enjoying this chromebook so far. It has that laptop feel to it, which is very impressive.

Attractive Look, Fast Processor, No Backlit Keyboard
My previous ASUS chromebook was aging out and not getting updates so decided it was time to get a new model. Did my research and found that the CX34 seems to have the best components (fastest processor, memory, nicest screen). The cost was high for a chromebook at $550 but though it would be worth it. Pros: - This is a very attractive chromebook with its sleek all-white look - Its 13th gen i5 is the faster processor I found on a chromebook at this price point Cons: - Only has 128gb SSD internal and the advertised 256gb comes by using a microSD plugged into an USB dongle that isn't small or flush with the chromebook at all and I don't expect many buyers will want to want to have this plugged in - No backlit keyboard. My research told me that the CX34 had a backlit keyboard but apparently this model doesn't and I'll be using it mostly at night in the dark and this is important feature so will be returning and finding a another chromebook that fits my needs. Wrote this review just so the next person knows there is no backlit keyboard and doesn't make same mistake I did

Poor purchase decision
Not much positive to write, except to note it great boot-up speed. Regarding my Chromebook Plus experience generally, I was surprised by how little software designed for the operating system is available. Android software performs poorly because it is usually designed for smaller phone screens. The Android games I've downloaded look much worse than on mobile device. Most are limited to a tiny portion of the screen. With respect to the ASUS Chromebook Plus CX34 I purchased, I was surprised to find that half the memory listed for the device is an SD card that occupies one of the USB ports. My mistake for not looking closer, but I assumed that ASU would include an micro SD card slot on one of its better Chromebook models. The machine comes with an Intel i5 processor - high end for a Chromebook - but does not includes a feature found on even low-end phones, tablet, and laptops. The display is okay and the speed for basic internet use is fine, but nothing else performs at a level comparable to a low-end Windows laptop. For example, the Word contained in the Microsoft 365 Chromebook program is not as capable as the Windows version. Altogether, a poor purchase.

Pretty expensive for what it is, but otherwise great
Honestly, the product is great, and while Chromebooks do have some limited use cases, for the most part it's been great. 400 bucks is pretty expensive for a laptop, and the touchscreen isn't that useful since it's not a two-in-one, which I thought it was for the price.
