Good fit, good feel, subtle design
I've had my 2nd-gen Moto X for nearly a year now and up until this point I had resisted getting a case. I have always had a love/hate relationship with smartphone cases in general. The market is too flooded with cheap, cheesy, poor-quality products - and in my opinion even some of the popular, "premium" alternatives end up making your phone look and feel like a squishy children's toy (I won't name names but it rhymes with "water sox"). Compounding my frustration was the fact that while my Moto X is my favorite phone I've owned (I've had five different smartphones since 2011 - only one of them died on me, the rest were just because I like getting new gadgets) for whatever reason a lot of the case manufacturers I actually do like decided not to bring out any products for it.All that to say after realizing that by this point nobody was going to come out with a new case for the 2014 Moto X that was exactly like what I usually prefer, I broke down and decided to take a chance on some cases that wouldn't ordinarily appeal to me. I bought three different ones to try them out: The Evocel Dual Layer case (closer to the hard dual layer design I usually go for), the i-Blason flexible TPU case, and this one. Of the three, the Diztronic is my favorite.Pros:+Grip! part 1: it fits the phone nice and tight, there is no fear that it will come off, and no flimsy/squishy parts even around the cutouts for the charging and audio ports like some cases.+Grip! part 2: The TPU material has a nice grippy feel to it that gives you confidence when the phone is in your hand that you're not going to drop it (although Moto X isn't a slippery fish like some recent smartphones). The feel is actually pretty similar to the back of the standard black resin Moto X (which is what I have, as since I got mine through my job I didn't have the option of Moto Maker customization).+Conforms to the shape of the Moto X very nicely and adds very little thickness/bulk.+Sometimes cases like this have a tendency to pick up fingerprints or pocket lint to an excessive degree, but that isn't the case with the Diztronic.+The design is understated and subtle, without in-your-face manufacturer logos (there is a very small "Diztronic" wordmark debossed on the right edge, quite easy to overlook altogether).+Feel of the power and volume buttons is great, very crisp action without any of the mushiness you get from some smartphone cases that cover the buttons instead of having cutouts.+Price is right, can't complain about what you're getting for under $9Cons:-Covers the Motorola logo "dimple" on the back - not a big deal, but that logo IS sort of a comfortable place to rest your index finger on a call, and maybe some people would care more about showing off what brand of phone they have (the iPhone cases with the cut-out window for the Apple logo are hilarious to me personally but to each their own).Other factors (could be good or bad depending on your opinion/situation):=Power and volume buttons are covered and don't have the "ridged" feel of the actual phone buttons, which I know some people may dislike.=Obviously, covers the whole back of the phone, so if you have a customized phone from Moto Maker nobody's gonna be seeing how cool it is - having to get a transparent case or go with no case at all is the tradeoff you have to put up with if you got a Moto Maker model, I suppose.Overall I am extremely satisfied with the Diztronic 2nd gen Moto X case and comfortable with it as my "daily driver" for as long as I keep the phone (which right now looks like it will probably be at least another year) - which, considering not long ago I despaired of ever finding a decent case for this phone, is high praise indeed!

A Great Minimal TPU Matte Case
TL;DR: Do you just want to add some grip to your moto x and do you want a clean, functional, minimal case? Get it.The minimal design on this case is extremely attractive and tasteful. I appreciate that Diztronic only brands their cases with a tiny logo on the bottom right-hand side of the case. I'd like it better if the branding were only on the inside of the case, but I'm not too upset about it compared to other manufacturers. Hats off to the designer(s?) at Diztronic for taking the time to create a tasteful design. The matte texture makes the phone grippable (I have a matte / soft-touch black moto x and it's still too slippery to hold without a case), which is exactly what I was hoping for with this case. It adds a tiny amount of lip around the screen (which keeps the poorly designed speaker grills from scraping against the table when it's flat), but I don't think that this case would protect anything from an impact fall. There's just no soft material for shock absorption. My moto x is certainly still sliding off of the couch, off of pillows, and any surface where it isn't propped up or level. So if that's an issue for you, don't expect this case to solve it. It will improve your grip but it won't change some of the more annoying aspects of the device. The buttons have a nice feel to them. Everything is perfectly clickable with minimal effort. Ports are fully accessible. I have no complaints about the function of the design. The really nice feature is that the case follows the contours and lines of the phone and adds just the right amount of thickness to make it easier to hold. I really dislike this "make it thin" arms race in electronics, and this case makes the new moto x feel more like last year's model (which was the perfect size, in my opinion). It's a very handsome and minimal case, following the design of the moto x with it's minimal design.Fingerprints are easily cleaned from the matte material with glasses cleaning solution and a microfiber cloth. The front-facing band is gloss (which I dislike), but I assume they did it so that the front of the case matches the reflective nature of the glass.I would've preferred that Otterbox make a Commuter case for this phone (which is about as pretty as utilitarian can get, apparently), but in lieu of reliable protection, I really like that this case makes the phone a touch thicker without ugly stylings. If you love the feel of the 2nd gen moto x but just wish that it was a little easier to grip, this is probably the case to get. I can finally carry it in my hand without feeling so worried that it's going to slip. Again, I'd rather have a minimal heavy duty case, but I have insurance I guess, so this will do.However, if you're probably going to drop it and don't have insurance, definitely just get the ugly Otterbox Defender (I had a Commuter on my last moto x and it saved that thing every time). I don't think it's possibly to break phones in those cases from the sorts of drops most people experience.

Very Satisfied with this Case
Background: "Downgraded" from Otterbox to this case (issues with bulk and with getting liquid between the screen protector and screen). Very satisfied with the switch.β’ Fit: Perfectly fits my Moto X 2nd Generation; doesn't cover any microphones/speakers/camera/front motion sensor. No cutout for Motorola logo, if that's important to you. Lip of the case over front face appears to be exactly the extra width of the speaker/mic bars on the phone, maybe a hair more. Adds approximately 2-3 mm of thickness side-to-side, top-to-bottom, and front-to back (including the lip). No noticeable change in weight.β’ Finish/Texture: Finish is matte black/slate. I'd describe the texture as "smooth rubber" - it feels smooth to the touch but not slippery (and not sticky/tacky). The grip feels much better than the bare phone. Diztronic logo is imprinted on the button side of the case, and as such is hardly visible, leaving the back sleek and bare.β’ Buttons: Power button and volume rocker feel good on the side, and there is very slight tactile difference between the two - notably, you can feel the "dip" in the center of the rocker. The power button is NOT very textured as the Moto X's, but the buttons are imprinted with the Power and +/- symbols.β’ Headphone jack opening measures 8mm diameter and can easily take thicker headphone housings (which my previous case could not).β’ Micro-USB jack opening measures 13 mm wide.β’ Other: Case is easily attached and removed, and it doesn't feel like it will warp as you do so. As mentioned in other reviews doesn't have screen protector, but works well with what I have on it (Mr Shield protector).

Great in Every Way
This was my second time purchasing a Diztronic case and I've got to say it is exactly what I wanted in every way. The material doesn't feel cheap like most other flexible cases, even though the case itself is sold at such a low price. It fits greatly and is not thick and bulky in any way and helps keep the feel of the phone. I also love the fact that I have no trouble putting it in my pocket and taking it out again. I would definitely recommend this case to anyone who wants a flexible phone case.

Fantastic built quality
Fantastic built quality.Fits my Moto X 2014 perfectly.Of special mention is the superb button design.Unlike in other cheap-o designs, the case's button covers do not exert any pressure on the actual buttons. There's also no play whatsoever and, unlike in chep designs, no extra force necessary to activate buttons. The haptic button feel is transferred through the case faithfully, making for a very pleasant interactive experience.Only 4 stars as, ideally, I would have liked the case material to have been more "grippy".Although not completely smooth it doesn't "hold on" to pocket inner lining enough for my liking.

just the job
I purchases this case prior to getting my new moto x because of the review I read about it. I was not disappointed. Its pretty much a perfect fit for the phone. I love the way it comes around the edges and protudes out just enough so that if you dropped your phone face down, it would prevent the glass screen from touching the floor. The case seems the perfect thickness so as to protect your phone, without adding much bulk. It has cutouts for the camera, sockets, and microphones. It covers up the power and volume buttons, but you can still press them really easily (unlike some cases I've had) The only thing I would like is an allowance for the trademark Motorola dimple on the back.

Great case. Phone fits perfectly
Great case. Phone fits perfectly. All the buttons are working properly. The case is of a good quality, doesn't feel cheap. It seems it's manufactured of the same material as the back panel of Moto X (2014)
